Last Film You Watched

aye, i knew that as soon as I saw the poster. He was also horribly miscast in The Woman in Black. It's like the industry is trying to make him into something he's not (bit like DiCaprio).

Now Edward Norton was able to pull off a role like that because he's some serious acting chops.

Norton is able to pull off (if he's focused) any of that type of role, because he has that 'tainted actor' tag, that gives him licence to get away with sub par performances but, 'he's got issues'.

Crimson Peak (2015) -

Tom Hiddleston, Mia Wasikowska and Jessica Chastain in a Guillermo Del Toro 'romantic gothic' film.

Thriller more than horror, was ok and the visuals were good'ish. 6/10

Watched Fundamentals of Caring at the weekend. Decent enough, Paul Rudd is likeable enough to watch. About a kid with a disease that limits him physically so he needs a carer(Rudd). Very much a watch with the misses film.

Wasn't into it. A very by the numbers indie film and that American pop star girl could not effing act. The term "eminently likable" could have been invented for Paul Rudd though

Norm of the north.

eeeeeeeeeeerrrrrrggggghhhh

I wasn't paying too much attention to it but i didn't think it was a very good film. Story was quite poor tbh, seemed like setting it up for silly shenanegens rather than make any sense like a good kids film does. It also felt like it was ripping off a lot of other kids films in elements, like they had lifted characters or settings or events and changed them a little bit. So it just wasn't a very fun film to watch as an adult and the kids didn't seem to stick with it for long periods either.

Ashtonian rating- 3/10

(coming soon- The one people are waiting for me to review, Suicide squad! coming from someone who didn't think superman vs batman was too bad after all)

Mocking Jay Part 2 - 6.5/10 enjoyed watching the 4 films tbh

still haven't seen this, I really enjoyed part two but thought 1 & 3 were a bit weak...still invested enough to finally catch the conclusion at some point.

we watched The Signal last night, they overdid the slowmo sequences and the cast were the usual forgettable American teens but the story was decent, some nice camerawork and Larry Fishburne adds some weighty gravitas. 7/10.
