Last Film You Watched

Triple 9 - Really good film and thoroughly recommended.

Had the right idea but terrible film.

The new Star Trek 9/10 really good and the 2nd best ever after Wrath of Khan.

This is an interesting opinion. I just saw it last night and I thought it was easily the worst of the three new ones. Kirk was laboured, Uhura non existant, Spock bored, Scotty not nearly cranky enough, Sulu a tiny part and Checkov over the top to extreme. The best character was Bones by far and despite a couple of forced laughs it was a pretty lame plot. Where did Elba get all his cronies flying around from? I thought only 3 crew survived? The planet was so close to the space station, how come they never realised this despite Elbas advanced technology? Do starships not have GPS? Could they not locate it? Soo many questions. Such little plot.

Had the right idea but terrible film.

Oh! - It's one of the few film's lately that has captured my attention from start to finish. Lacked a little depth around character introduction and a back story to the plot so yeah I did find it hard to connect with the main characters and establish reasonable empathy with them. Yes it could have had more substance but overall I really enjoyed it.

Flight. Dependable Denzel does the job, too long though, John Goodman plays John Goodman and its a by-the-numbers plot. Kelly Reilly is little more than a prop. Catalina from My Name is Earl gets nekkid... very nekkid.
I thought this was a superb film. I think the length was justified in the end, and I also think the film was very poorly promoted as some sort of Air Force One style action flick, which it very much isn't.

The BFG (2016)

Perfectly captures the book.

Mark Rylance nails it and the little girl isn't too annoying.

Reccomended

4 Championship Belts out of 5

obviously I've heard of BFG but never seen film or read the book before but watched it in 3D yesterday, first 3D film I've seen since the 80's I think. She paid as it was her who wanted to see it so that was a bonus. Wasn't expecting much but surprisingly I enjoyed it, thought it was done very well to look at and decent enough story to keep you interested, ending is a bit naff once the Queen gets involved but an enjoyable kids film that I would recommend. Stung her for sweets in there and a KFC on the way home so a winner all round. 7.5/10

The force awakens. (Again)

The first order are terrible at both close combat and air combat. Watch it and see, I mean seriously crap.
