Watched this last night : Errementari. ( Netflix)

Based on Spanish folklore in the eighteenth century.

It was supposed to be a horror, but was that bad, it was funny.

An evil blacksmith breaks a pact with the Devil, who seeks revenge.

One to avoid, unless they remake it and cast Nicolas Cage as the blacksmith.

I honestly really enjoyed this one. Not scary in the least, and yeah, was laughing quite a lot at it. But it committed to the premise in a big way.

This absolute smasher is on iplayer for another week, second time I've watched it and its tremendous. Sherlock coming to terms with his physical and mental frailty living as a nonagenarian on the south coast after WW2.

Ian McKellen is terrific as the titular former detective and the film has fun with the conceit of an aged Sherlock tormented by past events. Even more impressive is Laura Linney as a rural English housekeeper, particularly if you've been watching her in Ozark, proper, proper actor.

Loved it too.

Goodfellas. Still holds up really well. Some amazing performances. Surprised Ray Liotta didn’t go on to have a more distinguished career. Love the menace Joe Pesci carries.
Just noticed that ‘sheeeeeeeeeeit’ guy from the wire appears briefly as a doctor. lol
My favorite mafia film. That scene of them cooking up a proper Italian dinner in prison is so good

I watched Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf earlier, Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor on film together, classic 60s film about a couple of drunks arguing with each other, dark comedy. Was good, with an sense of petsonal hurt and emotions

Alien Resurrection

Some slightly ropey ultra 90's CGI and too cool for school space pirates with attitude aside it's a decent enough movie. But although it has the Aliens and has kind-of-Ripley Ripley8 it doesn't really feel like it's connected to the first 3 movies. The aliens just feel like a space McGuffin rather than the great creation from the first film and also seem a bit.....stupid.

Passable hammy action fun though.
