Last Film You Watched

Watched Batman Begins first which is very decent but doesn’t come close. Probs watch that Bane one next which I remember enjoying at the time but is a lot sillier if I remember right.

I much prefer Begins but TDK is a great film nonetheless. The Dark Knight is slightly too Nolan-y to be perfect, and there are some huge plotholes that I know shouldn't bother me, but they just do.

Watched this the other night - to be honest, I like all of Gaspar Noé's films, and I really enjoyed this and thought it was good, mischievous fun. It's less than an hour long, so I'll definitely watch it a few more times, as there's quite a lot packed into the running time. While it doesn't really offer much new from Noé, it still shows off how brilliant a technician he really is. Needs to come with a strong epilepsy warning, though (in all seriousness).

Russian sci-fi on Netflix. ( subs )

@jaycee I enjoyed this, kind of like a Cold War thriller, with some sci-fi thrown in. I know you didn’t like it.

You have to bear in mind, this has gone through the Russian censors and it doesn’t exactly portray the Russian authorities in a favourable light either, so getting it released in itself is an achievement.

Thought the girl in the lead was very good and her relationship with the cosmonaut had a real warmth to it.

Nice little ending too, some real emotion to it.

Was looking at that the other day.

I’m just about to finish the third film in the Baztan trilogy - Offer to the Storm.

Spanish supernatural detective films, set in Basque country.

Not bad, like the type of films that pop up on BBC4 now and again.

Think I watched the 1st one when it csme out on Netflix, been meaning to catch the other two

They’re not a must watch, but are very watchable if that makes sense.

The location and town it’s filmed in is stunning too.
Not sure about the sequels, but the first one is based in Pamplona apparently. Went there a couple of years ago. Lovely little town and a beautiful area, very unlike what you expect of Spain. Will defo have to check this out.

All filmed in the Navarre region - the Basque Kingdom.

I watched another series recently that was filmed around there and it’s truly stunning.

The Northern Basque Pyrenees in particular.

Ps - just finished the last one in the trilogy, it’s the best - An Offering to the Storm. ( fast paced )

You need to watch the other 2 first to understand it.

Yeah, we travelled from Bilbao to Pamplona to San Sebastian. Absolutely amazing scenery. Beautiful area and place to live I reckon. There was a big Basque festival going on in Bilbao while we were there, but we missed most of it unfortunately :o :(
