Last Film You Watched

More of a documentary film but watched 'American Murder - The Family Next Door' earlier. Very disturbing true story.
There's a YouTube documentary on that as well, watched it a while ago. Goes into more depth about his reactions and behavior at certain points, and also how he behaves when the neighbour puts his cctv on.

Really hard hitting that someone could do what he did.

"The ghosts of war" has all the ingredients but doesnt quite hit the mark,US soldiers camped up in a large house in France, but theres more to the story than that, passes 90 minutes but you end up feeling it could have been much better
Watched the Ghosts of War last night.

As you said, it had potential to be a good film, but ended up being a bit of a mess.

Plus they were trying to be clever with the ending, which was just daft.

The missus was watching this the other night and I came in around the start of the first night in the house. Like you both say it has it's merits but misses the mark by quite a distance...even the jump scares aren't particularly well done which is bread and butter in this type of film.

The scenario of the final act is nearly good but, avoiding spoilers, I couldn't buy that the plot twist "thing" presented as the best "thing" to help with "things" makes any sense whatsoever and to my mind would actually exacerbate the problem. And the actual ending ending just seems like they ran out of time.

The cast are pretty good though, especially the lad with the tash who hits a nice seam of nervy young De Niro energy.

Atomic Blonde on Channel 4 tonight.

Recommend if you’re into fast paced action films. Like John Wick but with an actual storyline.

Good film that.

Was hoping there was gonna be a franchise but seemingly not. Bugs me when you read about people saying established characters like Bond should be recast as a woman as if it's the only way you can have a strong female protagonist in an action or spy flick.

Atomic Blonde and Fury Road are great ripostes to that lazy thinking.

Seen this last night and really, really enjoyed it. Loved the narrative of the film and Sacha Baron Cohen was brilliant.

Doesn't come without its flaws though, was highly fictitious in parts and thought it kinda abandoned the storyline of Bobby Seale very quickly. Still a great watch.

Not seen it but having heard bits and bobs that's what really puts me off. Sorkin has took real life events and real peoples motives and repurposed them and presented it in a way that distorts the truth.

That for me is hugely disrespectful and if people don't know the actual story then this film is going to be their truth.

Unashamed rip off John Carpenters Assault on Precinct 13.

VFW - Veterans of Foreign Wars.

A young girl steals a bag full of drugs off some dealers, as revenge for her addict sisters death and holes up in a veterans bar with a handful of old army veterans.

The dealers and their minions lay siege to the bar, as the out numbered and out gunned army vets fight for their lives.

Deliberately made in B movie style, cliched, uber violent, with a great cast - Norm from Cheers !

A must for Carpenter fans.
