Last Film You Watched

Trying to put together a list of 5-6 movies for Halloween. It's a Saturday this year so planning on taking advantage of it by sitting on my hoop watching TV.

Looking for 4-5 essential horrors with maybe a light-hearted Halloween-themed film mixed in.

So far, i'm looking at Halloween (original), Black Christmas (original) and The Witch. Any solid recommendations? Really difficult to narrow it down.

Have you seen The Witch? I watched it recently, thought it was terrible tbh. Absolutely terrible in fact

There's 2 the witch films. The Robert eggers directed one is excellent in my opinion

Watched There's only one Jimmy Grimble last night, absolutely awful acting, loved every minute of it. lol

The one with Black Philip? Not saying it's not well made, or acted. But just didn't think it was a good film and certainly not scary. I hated it haha

That version was always going to split opinion, due to the dialogue being in Olde English.

Thought it was pretty creepy myself and quite an effective horror.

Prince of Darkness, another John Carpenter film.

Could easily have a John Carpenter marathon! Assault on Precinct 13 and The Thing remain two of my all time favourite films.

Throw in Vampires and theres 3 excellent Carpenter films

Saint Maud, don’t bother, save your money. Very good performance from the lead but I’ve got no idea why it’s billed as a horror film, more a descent in to serious mental health problems involving religion.

I'm going tomorrow, this is the first negative mention I've seen of this film, its getting a lot of positive comments I've seen across social media, you might be right about the horror tag though.

Seen that new Bill Murray film earlier, On The Rocks, was ok, same director as Lost In Translation but not up to that standard. Decent drama, very simple story line, typical Murray, lots of facial expressions...etc

Saw Rose: A Love Story, a new British horror movie. It's well-made and cleverly done, and I was surprised by just how much I enjoyed it. I'd recently been let down by Relic and thought this was going to be of a similar standard, but it's actually one of the best things I've seen this year (which, OK, has not exactly been a vintage one).

I'm going tomorrow, this is the first negative mention I've seen of this film, its getting a lot of positive comments I've seen across social media, you might be right about the horror tag though.

As I said , “Maud” was very good, the interior scenes are a bit claustrophobic and the exterior scenes provided a good contrast. I suppose I felt a bit let down , I think I was spoiled back in 1977 getting terrified by Suspiria (which I’ve not watched since).
