I enjoyed this - it's definitely a lot like La Haine (which has just been re-released) in many ways, although as you say this one's more from the police perspective. Also shades of Do the Right Thing in there too. I'm not sure if it's quite as great as the reviews have made out, but it's really well-made and very tense at times -Just seen Les Misérables, the new French film about cops and street gangs in France, dont think its anything like the old Victor Hugo musical. Good film, easy and obvious La Haine comparisons I've seen but this is more about cops, good and bad cop type thing, decent film set in a rough place
the last scene, on the stairwell, is particularly great.
