Last Film You Watched

Just seen Les Misérables, the new French film about cops and street gangs in France, dont think its anything like the old Victor Hugo musical. Good film, easy and obvious La Haine comparisons I've seen but this is more about cops, good and bad cop type thing, decent film set in a rough place
I enjoyed this - it's definitely a lot like La Haine (which has just been re-released) in many ways, although as you say this one's more from the police perspective. Also shades of Do the Right Thing in there too. I'm not sure if it's quite as great as the reviews have made out, but it's really well-made and very tense at times -
the last scene, on the stairwell, is particularly great.

A rookie cop battles those who are trying to prevent crucial evidence being reported. This is a strange cross between Serpico and The Warriors. It's not as good as either ...

@jaycee this isn’t half as bad as it sounds.

Alive - South Korean ( subs )

A young lad and a young girl end up as two of the only survivors of a zombie outbreak in two blocks of flats facing each other.

More than just a zombie film, as the focus is more on them than the zombies.

Well put together, well acted and not a bad little film.
Watched it tonight for myself. Liked it quite a bit. Thought there were things they could have done a bit differently but, overall, enjoyed it.

Watched I'm Thinking of Ending Things on Netflix, and Matthias & Maxime on Mubi. Enjoyed both, especially the second one, and the first made me want to hunt out my copy of Anomalisa for another watch. Couldn't help but think that Philip Seymour Hoffman would've been nailed on for the male lead in I'm Thinking of Ending Things, had it been made 20 years ago.
