Last Film You Watched

Yeh I think I understood what was going on; that every scene aside the janitor bits all happens in his head, the woman is someone he met in the past and wished he'd spoken too etc. The car engine going at the very end got me though as the book implies he does actually commit suicide. The bit that confused me the most really was the Tulsey Town scene. I understand the younger versions of the 3 girls are kids in the school in the present, possibly the same type of girl that bullied him in school, but I don't really understand the warning the bruised/rash girl gave to himself?
Someone he hit or raped I guess? Was warning her not to go with him.

Didn't think it was anything special tbh, yet to see his other directed films but they all sound similar

A warning that he isn't good news perhaps? There were a lot of suicide references there, whether he had something to do with it. As you say, the book is supposedly much darker.

Seen Tenet, I enjoyed it, Washington is cool, lots of good one liners. The action some of it is quite good, I do think though if your analize what's going on too much you will get confused, especially with the flash back thing and seeing 2 things at once.
Soundtrack and cinematography are great too but I think Nolan does get that right

still trying to figure out what went on

Just seen Les Misérables, the new French film about cops and street gangs in France, dont think its anything like the old Victor Hugo musical. Good film, easy and obvious La Haine comparisons I've seen but this is more about cops, good and bad cop type thing, decent film set in a rough place

Saw The Painted Bird, which is finally out after being held up for 6 months due to the pandemic. There were loads of walkouts when it played at festivals last year, and although it's a tough watch I don't think it's quite as brutal as the controversy has suggested. It follows a Jewish boy trying to survive on the eastern front as WW2 draws to a close. It's not for everyone, and certainly not as good as the similarly-themed Come and See, but it's definitely worthwhile and is brilliantly photographed. Stellan Skarsgard and Harvey Keitel are among the more familiar members of the cast.

@jaycee this isn’t half as bad as it sounds.

Alive - South Korean ( subs )

A young lad and a young girl end up as two of the only survivors of a zombie outbreak in two blocks of flats facing each other.

More than just a zombie film, as the focus is more on them than the zombies.

Well put together, well acted and not a bad little film.
