One from Netflix that isn’t bad for a change - the Old Guard.

A small group of immortal warriors fight for their lives to protect their secret from the world.

Charlize Theron is very good and it’s a decent enough Saturday night film.

Probably going to be a sequel.

Thought it was pretty damn average myself bar a few nice fight scenes. The comic is wayyyy better.

Thought it was pretty damn average myself bar a few nice fight scenes. The comic is wayyyy better.

It’s an okay “ remove brain “ film, won’t win any awards, but entertaining enough.

Thought it was around a 6,they had a good story with loads of potential but it seemed rushed,defo a sequel on the way,hopefully more of a back story to it

Yep. Nothing to write home about. Low budget fluff.
Plot is a couple of teenagers dashing about a 50's small town america amid rumours of space aliens.

Continuing my sci-fi binge, last night I watched Gattaca. I remember being shown parts of it by my year 11 biology teacher but never watched it in-full before. It's not the most novel concept for setting but the story of the characters is good. A couple odd things feels like shortcuts by the writers but overall I really liked it. Its almost like a feature length Black Mirror episode.
Next up is Moon.

Dark City is a sci-fi film I'd highly recommend. One of my favourite films of all time. If you've not seen it you're in for a treat, especially if you like sci-fi.

Yep, seen it. It is indeed very good.
There's not many sci-fi movies I haven't seen at this point.

this is not an easy film first of all. It starts off with a very sensitive topic, and puts something raw and real, almost documentary like. It was slow. But I liked it, innovative title as well.

I really liked it. Great setting, soundtrack and one scene in particular really stuck with me. It's rather slow paced, which is how I like my sci-fis but maybe not for everyone

• Coherence is a brilliant low budget time paradox sci fi
• Resolution and the Endless, independently made sci fi films linked to each other though not necessarily sequels
• 12 Monkeys with Bruce Willis is a classic
• I'm sure you've seen Alien, but watch it again
• Metropolis, the grandmother of all sci fi. Silent film but brilliantly conceived with a fantastic soundtrack.

There's loads more, but that's off the top of my head

Seen Dark City and watched The Endless just last night. It wasn't bad but didn't really like it that much. I'll give Resolution and maybe Coherence a go tonight.
