Last Film You Watched

Watched 'The Greasy Strangler' last night.
I haven't laughed that hard at a film in a long time. Possible one of the most absurd films I've ever seen lol

Definately not for everyone though. You have to really like ridiculously absurd/surreal comedy to even get past the fist 20 mins or so.

God I'd forgotten about that film - proper John Waters style bonkers

Nothing to do with (the extremely annoying) Jack Whitehall. Instead, real talent like Hugh Jackman and Allison Janney play education officials credited with the dramatic improvement of schools in Long Island NY. Everyone is happy and is likely to stay that way until someone looks too closely ...

Just rewatched the Final Destination movies, first time seeing the 5th. Not great, but kinda fun.

My personal ranking: 5 > 1 > 2 > 3 > 4
The way they ended 5 brought the whole series up a level. I didn't expect it to be a prequel but when it happens all the signs make sense. Not that its brilliant, but they are unique movies. Like anti-plot armour. The exaggerated gruesome deaths do edge into stupidity though. I reckon some people have developed phobias from some of them - like acupuncture, sun beds, laser eye.
Even though they aren't good (I think only 5 can be considered decent), they're so unqiue in premise that I'd probably call them a must-watch. There's nothing else like them.
Loved the first one when it came out. Really enjoyed second guessing the deaths, and the clever ways ppl died/avoided death. Think the second one was ok, but didn't watch any of the others, because Hollywood sequels are absolute balls 99% of the time, and they defo came across as 'straight-to-dvd' efforts. Might have to check out 5 tho.

This had pretty poor reviews, shame really as it's a perfectly serviceable 90 minute revenge western with proper gusto performances from Ed Harris and Jason Isaacs and darkly comic violence and confrontation that people would be spaffing over if it had Tarantino's name on the bill.

On Prime for a few more days under 'Sweet Vengeance'.

Blue Streak. Late 90s comedy.

It's terrible, as in really, really terrible - the editing in particular is some of the worst you'll ever see in anything.

Yet for some absolutely unknown reason I also enjoy it. As in I couldn't tell you one thing in it that's good but it's firmly in the "so bad it's good" category.
