Dog Day Afternoon - Terrific

Good action film that. Very enjoyable, great setting and looks superb.

Watched that this morning and I'm with Prev here. Little bit long but a lot of fun....Especially the angry fella constantly demanding "Ja Ja Ding Dong".

I just just look at the stuff Ferrel was doing 10/15 + Years ago and it’s very very weak compared. IMO.

Coherence - interesting sci-fi, really loved it the first time watching and second was just as good. Very low budget and set in the one location, story is very interesting and does well to not fall into lunacy. Really recommended, good thinker.

I've watched it a few times, second time is better because I discovered that:

you just follow the blonde one, she's the only one who remains the same person, so you can keep track of which party is which

In Fabric.

Retro Euro horror style story of a cursed dress, verbose retail assistants, witchcraft and the hypno-orgasmic potential of washing machine repair talk during loan applications.

Stylish, great sound and good fun but could maybe be accused of some repetition. The Fresh Tomato ratings show it's divided opinions along the usual critics / audience faultline.

Iirc it was supposed to be quite different...
Hicks getting cut last minute due to failing to agree financial terms..
Originally Hicks and newt survive,
The scene where Ripley realises she's carrying the queen, she's supposed to ask Hicks to end her when the time comes, in front of newt.....imagine how much.more dramatic effect that would carry

YES. I really like Alien 3 too, but you are right about this.......the whole film would have benefitted from having Hicks and Newt around....and especially in the scene you mention. Unfortunate.

Really wish the district 9 fella had got to make his aliens movie instead of the crap we got served with covenant...
Loosely follows aliens:hive storyline, where Hicks, Ripley, meet etc are all alive
They get sent to an asylum and drugged into oblivion while the company tried to breed the xenos

Loved this. I'd seen Strickland's previous films, but this was the first one that really clicked for me. The whole 70s Euro feel was great... if you haven't already seen it, The Duke of Burgundy is worth a look. Not quite as good as In Fabric, but still interesting.
