Covenant is a rejected Red Dwarf story. Homicidal robot butler tries to get back at his creator by wiping out humanity
Alien 3 - not great.
Fincher obviously hadn't entirely left behind his music video sensibilities behind and add that into the very messy circle of development hell it had been swimming around in then it would have been a miracle for something good to come out of it.
As a ropey B-movie it would have been OK but a major studio motion picture on the back of the previous two films and with that cast? It's pretty awful.
I didn't mind the big events at the start but the rest of it is a mess. Why is Ripley so reluctant to warn given the events of Aliens and how furious she was at "The Company" and their lack of action? Clemens big reveal doesn't inform any possible actions so is pretty pointless in terms of storytelling and the Bishop creator thing is just uninteresting and pretty much irrelevant.
The Alien lure/chase bits are all a bit messy as well with the Alien altering it's running speed as and when the plot demands.

I actually quite like both Prometheus and Alien 3 - both are flawed but have interesting ideas
Resurrection is the worst because its so daft (especially with that crappy cheap rubbery alien skeleton flying out of the window at the end) Covenant was just pretty dull - honestly can't remember one single scene from it

I watched Rampage a couple of weeks ago. I enjoyed it for the type of film that it is.
It's not going to win any Oscars, but, it has some decent action scenes in it and didn't require too much concentration.
It`s the only one (imo) that could be open to a reboot.
You`ve got all the raw materials there for it to be a very good film.
I quite like Alien 3. It’s far from perfect (unlike the first 2 movies), but I like the dark tone and the claustrophobic setting, and it’s got a good cast of quality character actors - Charles Dance, Pete Posstlethwiate, Brian Glover.
Plenty wrong with it, but still, I don’t mind it at all.
Iirc it was supposed to be quite different...

The scene where Ripley realises she's carrying the queen, she's supposed to ask Hicks to end her when the time comes, in front of newt.....imagine how much.more dramatic effect that would carry
