Comedy horror, that has some genuinely funny moments, and some gore / splatter stuff. Very enjoyable, with a great central performance from Samara Weaving. Really commits to the premise in the final act.

It confused me, all the ingredients were there and they managed to over/under cook it. Unbreakable and split are far better films.

Watched the Special Edition (James Cameron's preferred cut) and I felt it was dragged out a little by the extra length. I think the original theatrical cut works better.

While Ripley learning of her daughter's death feeds into her immediate attachment to Newt there's no real need for the colonist scenes on Hadleys Hope and Hudson's "Badass" speech while reeling off the weaponry is pretty terrible as well.

Good though.

In my defence I think there's a case for something between the theatrical version and the Special Edition. I like the sentry guns, the day to day running of Hadleys Hope is completely unnecessary and all trace of Hudson's badass speech needs burning.

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, even opinions that are so wrong they shatter reality and make children across the world spontaneously burst into tears and flame
