Last Film You Watched

Watched a few films over the weekend. Earth Vs The Flying Saucer, 50s science Fiction with Harryhausen doing some effects, classic film with earth being attacked from out space, this is one of the best 50s films of this type IMO.

Tigerland, hadnt seen this before, about a US army training camp with solders getting ready to go to Vietman, kind of a rebel film with Colin Farrel being the bad guy, its a good film and underated i reckon as you dont hear it mentioned much but i think its really good.

Also watched Hurt Locker, another i hadnt seen. About a bomb disposal squad in Iraq, its really good film. Lone Survivor is the only other Iraq based war film ive seen, anyone know any other good ones from this era/region?
Lone Survivor was Afghanistan

The miniseries Generation Kill is well worth a watch.

Don't know if it's just me, but I found Mark Wahlbergs facial expressions in Lone Survivor so goofy it almost ruined the film for me. Still decent though.

There's a film called 'Society' from 1989 that I'd recommend. I'm not even sure if this movie actually made it to the cinema's, but it's a VHS cult classic. It centres on this young lad (Billy) who comes from a very wealthy family, & he suspects somethings not quite right with his parents & his sister. There's strong hints of incest but as the film progresses Billy's paranoia worsens as others around him seem to know what's going on in society's elite. The big reveal comes in the last 15 minutes of the movie, & I swear if you watch this film without looking up any more info on it then your jaw will be stuck to the floor as the truth is uncovered.

It's a lot of fun.

Cell (2016)

Mobile phones broadcast an odd signal and everyone goes crazy except for John Cusack and Samuel L Jackson.

Starts off fairly OK but then descends into a jumbled mess of half arsed exposition and incoherent boredom. Like a bitter old storyteller got so furious at young un's and their mobile phones that he just started screaming at his typewriter halfway through instead of concentrating on the story.

Green Zone is a decent watch, especially when you consider the claims and counter claims going on at the time of WMD.

It passes 2 hours,I didnt really enjoy it,the storyline is decent, theres 3 main characters and there is no sort of chemistry between them, its a typical Netflix made film were the intention is good but it just doesnt get it quite right
Well done for watching the complete film.
I lasted twenty minutes. Got as far as the girl with the red dress coming into the bar. Too many like this getting churned out. Fur coat and no knickers cones to mind.
Thanks anyway.
