Crackin film. Chronicles the May-September romance between young scouse actor Peter Turner and 50s starlet Gloria Grahame in late 70s Liverpool and London with jaunts to Hollywood and New York. Really touching performances from Annette Benning and Jamie Bell with an excellent supporting cast. It's an alternating story of sadness and joy and portrays our city and its people wonderfully, and accurately.

In a scene inspired by one of the few photos of the couple when Turner's friend Eileen (Leanne Best) joins them for a visit to New York, Bell and Best pose on a balcony while Benning takes the shot, and as the flash pops both shout 'EVERTON!!!'
