Last Film You Watched

Last Jedi for me, tho' they're all merely a tad above average. A smidgen more entertaining than the prequels, but galaxies away from the excellence of the originals.
To each their own mate. To me TLJ is the only Star Wars movie that has zero redeeming features to it. Absolutely nothing. I just find it dreadful on every conceivable level. Its vandalism in movie format. I'd happily watch the admittedly flawed prequels over the sequels any day personally but there you go.

I think the prequels had vastly-superior world-building. They inspired the great Knight of the Old Republic, after all. But the pacing, dialogue and acting was all wrong. The Disney trilogy wasn't great in those departments, but they were more watchable at least.

What did you hate about Last Jedi? I only got round to watching it a few months ago, after enjoying all those youtubers laying into it for sport. Turns out with ultra-low expectations I ended up quite enjoying it. Even Luke Skywalker's treatment wasn't as bad as everyone made out, he had quite a heroic exit I thought. With the guest stars I preferred watching Laura Dern to RoS's Richard E Grant. Snoke was a joke, deffo...but the whole trilogy lacked a coherent memorable villain. Rose wasn't as bad as all that either, her character made some sense until that awful cheesy kiss scene after she saved Finn. Last Jedi generally had better pacing and more interesting camera work & set design than the other two. Ryan Johnson does seem to be a more talented director than JJ Abrams, at least in my book.

I remember going to watch my lads nativity play when he was in nursery,it was awful, really bad acting and scenery, but compared to this film,it was like the Godfather

This is a steaming turd of a film, its not even so bad its good, this was without doubt a straight to DVD film and them dvds now get used as target practise by some one firing maggot infested crap out of a catapult

Cheesy/bad dialogue and some poor casting choices aside I really don't think the prequels are as bad as they get made out to be tbh mate. In terms of the dialogue noting will ever top the "your momma" joke for being the most cringeworthy line in star wars history.

Personally I find the way the sequels wasted such an amazing cast absolutely staggering. So many great actors and actresses forced in such nonsensical roles and even the leads only have wafer thin character development.

Mate, if I seriously listed everything I hated about TLJ I'd end up taking pages of this thread. Nobody wants that to happen, least of all me! so I'll limit myself and make it as abridged as possible because I'd rather not inflict that on you and everyone else!

I just hate everything about it. The plot (or the lack thereof), the endless macguffin's, the stupid and directionless subplots, the useless new characters, the needless separation of the main hero's, the character assassination of Luke, the pointless death of Snoke, the "your mama" joke, the destruction of Hux as a credible villain, the waste of Phasma, the turning of Finn from an interesting stormtrooper in a moral crisis into an utter clown, turning Leia into Mary Poppins in space, the ludicrous nonsense with Admiral purple hair, ect, ect. It's just goes on and on. It not only trashed everything that came before but it spectacularly derailed what was already a very mediocre sequel trilogy and left episode nine with nowhere to go.

That's why I'm so lenient on TROS, Abrams did the best he could in an impossible situation and managed to carve out a fairly entertaining film from it imo. ;)
