If you can enjoy 300 you can enjoy The King.

I have to agree. Whilst I’m not entirely familiar with much of the inaccuracies, I always dislike a film that paints an picture of an historical character in a holier than thou light. Was like royalist propaganda. Throw in some needless nationalist nonsense and a very strange french accent then you have a fairly poor film in my opinion.Probably not, though to take the “history“ out of that would have entirely removed the reason for the films existence.
If films pretend to be based on true events then they should at least use those events in the plot, and not entirely change them to make points that are the opposite of what happened. Take his brother Thomas for example, who in the film is killed by nameless Welsh off-screen, a casualty of his fathers needless wars. Thomas was actually the casualty of the war Henry V started (needlessly), killed by Scots fighting with the French.
The “plot” of Grey and Cambridge as well was daft in the film and really misleading; in reality Cambridge actually told Henry what was being planned and the King butchered Grey and Scrope (who may actually have been innocent), then seized their lands and properties to fund the war.
It was the idea that he was mugged into starting the war that was the worst bit though.
If you can enjoy 300 you can enjoy The King.
Can't you hide the remote ?
I like 300, it's visually stunning, great story, based on a legendary tale.If it wasn't based on a true event would you call it an awful film?

Cracking little scfi on Netflix - Code 8.
Trailer doesn’t do it justice.
Set in Canada in the near future, a percentage of the population are born with “ powers “ that leads them to become discriminated against and ostracised, leading some to turn to crime.
Influnces include, Dredd ( Karl Urban version ) Robocop and to a lesser extent X Men.
Well put together, entertaining and thought provoking.
Might give that a watch tonight.
Watched that the other night, wasnt expecting much but enjoyed itView attachment 83917

Been having turns as a family at picking films. I think that I am going to form a breakaway film club of 1 soon though.
Last nights choice, not mine, Ready or Not. Kind of like the Purge meets Murder by Death, the latter not being an observation of the poster of same names work.
Watched this the same night, got a few bad ratings but I enjoyed it
