Last Film You Watched

Horror portmanteau, including obligatory creepy child and Jon Pertwee as a vampire. Anything including Christopher Lee, Peter Cushing and Ingrid Pitt is worth a watch.

Atomic Blonde starting now on Film4 if anyone hasn’t seen it before. Like a Cold War James Bond with a fitter lead and John Wick fight scenes.
Cracking film that.

I watched Death Wish 4 today. It's obviously crap but I kind of enjoyed it - zipped along and full of cartoon characters and straight to video gunfire. And while there is one scene at the start it doesn't have the same intense focus on combining explicit nudity, rape and violence against women that Michael Winner's films seemed to enjoy putting a leering focus on.

On a lighter note the stand in dummys that they used for the SFX are enjoyably obvious but the Denny Trejo one....magnificent. I think it might even be wearing a different suit and tie. Outstanding work.

The Gentlemen - Enjoyed this, exactly what you'd expect from Ritchie, assuming you've watched Lock Stock & Snatch. Hugh Grant gets the plaudits and fairly so, but all my laugh out loud moments were from Colin Farrell. 9/10.

JoJo Rabbit - I thought this was great, amused throughout (apart from the sad bits). 9/10

Escape from Pretoria - Solid movie for lighthearted Saturday night watch. No idea how close it was to the true events. 7/10 (because there's not really any re-watch value)

The Gentlemen. Thought it was quite enjoyable but wouldn't watch it again, whilst the story was up there with Snatch and Lockstock I just thought the way it was executed it lacked something that would have made it a good solid film and was left slightly disappointed.

Watched a couple earlier, The Thin Man, old 1940s who dunnit, good film if you like the old black and white film, wrote by the same guy who wrote The Maltese Falcon and The Glass Key, two film noir classics.
Also The Sand Pebbles, which is very long but McQueen is great in it and makes it worthy of an evening!!

The Ritual, about a group of lads who go hiking in Sweden and get lost, in some parts its a bit like Blair Witch, i really enjoyed the first half hour then it turned into a horror film, the bit when they are hiking is great, making novice mistakes such as only having one compass between 4 people and heading from one point to another thinking its a good idea to just head straight there through the woods, big mistake haha

I’ve seen the ritual and thought it started off promising but faded badly.

Have you read the book? The film is ok, not bad, but the 'horror' is a drop in the ocean compared to the book. It is f*****************************cked up.

Eddie Redy. and Felicity Jones in a film with a similar feel to that Stephen Hawking one they did. A bit more peril to this. I enjoyed it. Available on Amazon Prime...

Saw the trailer for this, and quite fancied the look of it, but it never did quite enough to get me to fork out £15 to see it at the cinema.

Watched Gone Girl before i went to bed last night, brilliant film, think of the maddest female you know and this girl was even more devious, really good film!!
First half is ok, second half is absolutely terrible. Completely ridiculous imo.

Watched Vivarium today, which I really enjoyed - although you knew it was always going to be one of those films where they'd struggle to come up with a satisfying ending. Imogen Poots and Jesse Eisenberg are both very watchable.

Also watched The Other Lamb, which I found to be underwhelming and very slow - another cult/Manson-type thing about a long-haired leader who watches over his all-female "flock". It's well-made and looks good, but doesn't have enough to sustain it.

No but im told its much better, i didnt like that part with all the what ever they were things attacking the people haha
