20 year legal battle between residents in West Virginia against DuPont for knowingly poisoning the water with chemicals found in Teflon.

horrendous the way America allows these giant monopolies to self regulate; they literally used their employees has test subjects

it’s 20 years crammed into 2 hours, a really good film and eye opening, shows why things like cancer are on the rise.

Seen a few films recently on a site called Rakouten. It's another streaming service where you can pay cash or 'credits' to watch films. Don't think they do a subscription service, so not really sure the point of the credits (I get a little thru work each month), but they also have some free to watch (with adverts) films. Fortunately there only seems to be 2/3 sets of adverts per film, and they're normally very short. The selection is quite mixed, and generally quite old. There looks like some real duds on there, but also some decent films, like Amelie.

Watched one on there called 'Deception' on the weekend. Geoffrey Rush plays an antique valuer(?)/auctioneer who is called to value a collection of works at an old dilapidated villa, by a mysterious woman who never appears face to face. His character is old and cantakerous, with some peculiar behave 'issues', but Rush plays him really well and you soon find yourself rooting for him despite the way he treats people most of the time. At first he wants to refuse the woman's request, but keeps returning to her villa despite his reticence. Quite slow, but a good watch and quite charming.

Parasite. Really very good. Reminded me of A Simple Plan in its feel. If this is typical of South Korean cinema, we have a lot to look forward to. A thought-provoking tale of everyday folk and rich folk. Even the subtitles were easy to read. If you can, see it.
I thought 1917 was excellent, but this really did deserve the best picture Oscar. Captivated me and Mrs Jammy and sons 17 and 15

Can't remember if I posted about Parasite already, but watched it last week and really liked it. I have been thinking having seen it that it is a great entry film for South Korean/Asian cinema. Bit funny, bit weird, bit dark, bit brutal. It really brings together all the things that scene does well in to one film. The gateway drug of SK/A films....

It wasn't great, but Mathieu Amalric is always worth watching - even if he was given so little to do in this.
Doesn't help they made him look like an even more creepy, arrogant version of Stuart from TBBT... :o
