James Bond: Die Another Day

The opening part of the film (the stuff from North Korea) is very well done. The next 20 minutes or so also shows promise for what could be a great Bond film. Sadly it starts falling apart. There's far too much bad CGI, the Bond girls are mediocre (even if Halle Berry is stunning her character is quite boring), the theme song is the worst in the entire franchise - BY FAR, and the villain is very bland. The worst of the Brosnan Bond films. I remember watching this as a kid and hating it. I didn't remember the good parts, so I was actually pleasantly surprised, but overall I cant give it more than a 4/10.

I watched a film called The Senator the other week, you mean that one? Kennedy comes across horrible in it, had no thoughts for the girl just himself

EDIT yeah same film, UK/US titles
horrible, panicky way to be left to die. Autopsy revealed she had that small air pocket for about 2 hours before the oxygen ran out...and she suffocated. If it'd been my daughter, Ted Kennedy would've met a demise similar to his two brothers...

Need help finding a movie (or it may be a TV series) that I'm sure I've seen a trailer for in the past. All I remember is it involved people having AI robots in their household and there's a female one and a little girl and an abusive possible father. Eventually the AI saves the girl from him etc.

I could quite possibly have dreamed all this also.
Debbie does Dallas?

James Bond: The world is not enough

Another really good one, perhaps even better than the previous film. Big fan of the chick that plays Electra and of course the chick from Starship troopers. Brosnan really did star in some good Bond films. Bummer that Die Another Day is next. 8/10

I still can’t believe they called Denise Richards character “Christmas” just so they could make that final innuendo about Christmas coming more than once a year.

Saw The Lost Prince, the new one from the director of The Artist (which I always thought was overrated). I liked his two OSS films, which I'd highly recommend, and this new one is good fun. The basic idea is you have a single dad who's realised he's no longer the only man in his daughter's life - he's no longer the "prince" - and the story flits between reality and a fantasy world where he sees his prince character become less important to his daughter. There's a hint of The Princess Bride here, and it's all done very nicely. The star is Omar Sy, who in recent years has had a fair bit of work in English language films, such as Jurassic World and the new Call of the Wild.

Parasite. Really very good. Reminded me of A Simple Plan in its feel. If this is typical of South Korean cinema, we have a lot to look forward to. A thought-provoking tale of everyday folk and rich folk. Even the subtitles were easy to read. If you can, see it.
I thought 1917 was excellent, but this really did deserve the best picture Oscar. Captivated me and Mrs Jammy and sons 17 and 15

Haha yeh it came up with all sorts.

I'm thinking now maybe the father is abusive to the AI woman and the little daughter watches it happens every night, I think the AI gets replaced/repaired when he breaks it, then one time he goes after the girl and the AI woman suddenly becomes sentient and intervenes. Then the AI woman and daughter escape. That's all I can remember.
Not Westworld?

Thats a very good low key movie, good shout

Watched the film"Just mercy" .
I have been accused of racism although they actually meant colour prejudice, the person didn't know my first wife was of African decent ,her father was from Sierra Leone .
I now realise that in fact I very well might be racist because if the USA is the greatest country on earth ( their words not mine ) then may be I am .How any country can treat other people like they have in the past just leaves me absolutely raging . I pride myself on trying to see both sides but I cannot find "the other side " to even consider it .
Thought the leading roles were well played and had tears in my eyes for belated justice at the end .
