Hostiles - cracking Western noir, with Christian Bale and a great supporting cast. ( on Netflix )

Bale plays an American army captain in the mid West, who is tasked with escorting a Native American Chief who is dying of cancer and his family from an army stockade, back to his tribal lands so that he can die there.

The film follows their journey and all that comes with it, but also touches on the effects of PTSD, depression and racism.

It’s a real “ thinking “ film, beautifully filmed, slow, dark and brooding, with Bale putting in an outstanding performance. ( up there with his best )

It’s 2hrs 15 mins long and could’ve easily done with another 45 mins.

Highly recommended if you like Westerns.
Never thought slater off dazed and confused could be so moving

Watched the film"Just mercy" .
I have been accused of racism although they actually meant colour prejudice, the person didn't know my first wife was of African decent ,her father was from Sierra Leone .
I now realise that in fact I very well might be racist because if the USA is the greatest country on earth ( their words not mine ) then may be I am .How any country can treat other people like they have in the past just leaves me absolutely raging . I pride myself on trying to see both sides but I cannot find "the other side " to even consider it .
Thought the leading roles were well played and had tears in my eyes for belated justice at the end .
I haven’t seen the movie yet but I highly recommend the book. I’m guessing the movie couldn’t go into as many other stories as the main one, the book really hits home how crazy the world is for many minorities here, especially in the South
