Last Film You Watched

Two other films I watched purely because they were on whilst doing a cruise, Angel Has Fallen and Star Is Born.
First one instantly forgetful. Well worn format where even a numbskull like me sussed the villains out within the first few scenes.
Lady Gaga was brilliant in the other as well as Bradley Cooper who also sung the songs. Very touching performances from the two of them.

There are some things going on in the film that aren't often highlighted. To me the funniest and most significant thing is the mistaken opinion Baxter's neighbour gets of him - all the noise and sex party stuff that must be causing them bother through the dividing wall.

Situations in the film lead to the cementing of the poor reputation he has through absolutely no fault of his own - or at least partly his fault through lending his apartment out to the managers and their dates in the hope of promotion and/or money. The sting is the scene where the doc slaps Fran hard on the face. It's like he's slapping our man Baxter, and in a sense, us the idle spectators.

So in a sense Baxter is obtaining much needed redemption despite all his obvious good guy qualities.
