Last Film You Watched

Despite my body and head urging me otherwise, I decided to watch Justice League last night. Utterly, utterly woeful. Actors looked like they wanted to be anywhere else, the reshoots muddled everything, characters seemed to just change between scenes, and the whole thing looked like a computer game. Atrocious

They’ve put no effort into the story and just tried to jump on the comic book universe payday. Just be burnt and rebooted with an actual idea

Watched all the MIs apart from number 2 and the new one over the weekend. Modern action film-making at its best, Cruise's stunts are absolutely stunning at times

Couldn't agree more. It's hardly groundbreaking stuff - action scene, plot bit, action, plot twist, action, betrayal, action, action, twist, it wasn't betrayal, big finish - but it's slick, entertaining and Tom Cruise does some amazing stuff.

The money pit
If you've bought a house with never ending problems the bit were the bath goes through the ceiling and Tom Hanks starts laughing you'll understand.
Rememory.
Peter Dinklage...great actor
The delinquent season .
I love Irish films but we're cillian Murphy gets seduced how she acted without laughing is beyond me.
It's a good story tbh

Swordfish

Absolute clunker although there's some half decent big action set-pieces. Suffers from that late 90's - early 2000's thing of filmmakers trying to make hacking cinematic and turn it into a fast paced action sequence. Also has a notable scene (No, not the scene with Halle Berry sans top) where Hugh Jackman's elite hacker is supposed to be gobsmacked by a computer with a multi-screen setup!

Just watched Seven, yeah I know I'm very late on this one, really enjoyed it. Had bits of the Zodiac and Silence Of The Lambs in, the ending was cool, was coming up with all kinds of ideas on what was going to happen while they were in the car but didn't think of that !

Amazing film. There are alternate endings, but the one they went with was incredible. Disturbing and gut wrenching. The distributor hated it, they wanted Fincher to change the ending and go with one of the others that were a little less powerful. Im glad he stood his ground.

Confusing at times and a weird ending. Watchable but don't expect too much. 5/10

Just watched John Carpenters Vampires, great film James Woods was made for the part of vampire hunter, the absolute nutcase

It`s got elements of Assault on Precinct 13 running through it, plus some great black humour and one liners in it too.

Woods steals the show, with some wild over acting.

I`m surprised he hasn`t done more horror films, as he really does make a great vampire hunter.

Sheryl Lee looks mighty fine in it as well

I wanted to watch Highlander but she had dibs and went for Angels & Demons, thinking that anything with Tom Hanks is a banker.

Crap, but barely not crap enough to fast-forward, the ending was actually ok. 4/10.

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

I used to lambast this film because it’s a bit ropey, but after The Last Jedi screwed Star Wars over, I can appreciate the prequels because at least they were creative, had a fundamentally good story and took risks.
Couldn't agree more. Liked parts of Phantom Menace and loved the second two movies full stop. They felt like a proper space opera
I thought I would come to that conclusion after the abortion that was the last Jedi. Tried watching The Phantom Menace at the weekend. Had to turn it off. The dialogue and acting from all involved is just too bad.

I can appreciate both views: personally the prequel trilogies are a 5/10, 4/10 & 6/10 for me: they're bad films with some good bits, and the best thing about them is they introduced so many new elements to the Star Wars universe, which while often badly-executed, were good ideas.

Knights of the Old Republic took many of these ideas and turned it into arguably the greatest Star Wars story ever told.

I've only just finished watching Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Seen it a few times and I feel that it gets better every time.

Yes, strong 8/10. Tho' for me I think it's not one to rewatch.

Also a strong 8/10. I saw it for the 2nd-time recently and this time really noticed it's Morgan Freeman who's the star.

That's not to say Pitt didn't do well. He's gone downhill for a long while now, but back in the mid-to-late 90's he was killing it!

Zodiac was boooooring! Had to keep fast-fowarding and still nothing happened. 2/10.

Silence of the Lambs is another strong 8/10. Can't imagine anyone not giving that a good rating.

Manhunter is a much better film than Silence of the Lambs.
