Last Film You Watched

Went to see First Reformed, very well made and acted, quite a dark story. Written and directed by Paul Schrader who wrote Taxi Driver , there are echoes of Travis Bickle in the central character.

Watched prayers before dawn, true story about a Scouse lad in a Thailand jail,
Just read the book , and the film is only loosely based on it,
Think it might have ruined my enjoyment of the film as I was constantly thinking that didn't happen in the book.
Well acted film , decent action , but lacked a bit of background to the characters.

I reckon BR2049 is a brilliant film and carries the weight from the first fantastically well. I'd also disagree on 28 Days though it's a few years since I've watched it and I'm not 100% on how well the final act holds up.

No argument about the character of Caesar though. Not sure War is a 9 as I thought it sagged a little in the middle with the whole Great Escape thing but it's definitely a very satisfying conclusion to a brilliant trilogy.

I just couldn't get in to BR2049, maybe I'll enjoy the third edit release.

28 days with Sandra Bullock? It's let down way before the final act.

Star Wars: Attack of the Clones

I used to lambast this film because it’s a bit ropey, but after The Last Jedi screwed Star Wars over, I can appreciate the prequels because at least they were creative, had a fundamentally good story and took risks.

Couldn't agree more. Liked parts of Phantom Menace and loved the second two movies full stop. They felt like a proper space opera

I thought I would come to that conclusion after the abortion that was the last Jedi. Tried watching The Phantom Menace at the weekend. Had to turn it off. The dialogue and acting from all involved is just too bad.

I've only just finished watching Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy. Seen it a few times and I feel that it gets better every time. The final piece of La Mer is simply brilliant!

Anyway, it has has made me go and download Smiley's People with Alec Guinness (the original Tinker Tailor is great too) so that's my evenings sorted.
