Last Film You Watched

Watched the most gash, crappest, weird, nearly 2 hours of my life film I won’t get back last night, it was called ‘Mother!’ Had Jennifer Lawrence (the only reason I started watching it!) and Javier Bardem.

It was one of those films that you had to watch all the way to the end, even though it was excruciating to watch, hoping to actually find out what it was all about, it still didn’t make much sense at the end either.

Seeing Jennifer Lawrence’s jugs eased the pain a bit.
I think I posted about this a little while or spoke to friends about it.
Absolute tosh. Literally don't know what it's about, post natal depression, separation anxiety, clinical insanity, or was it all a dream.
Bizarre.

Watched this on the Horror Channel recently - remake of George Romero’s 1973 cult classic and much better.

A top secret US Army plane, carrying a biological weapon, crashes into wetland outside a small American town, polluting the water supply and turning nearly all of the townsfolk into homicidal maniacs.

Sounds corny, but it’s actually a very well put together film, relying on decent acting and suspense, over outright gore and horror.

Watched that on release years ago, it went under the radar a bit but it very decent.

Bizarre.

Supposedly it was references to stories from the bible mate, Jennifer Lawrence was mother nature/ Mary, Ed Harris and Michelle Pfeiffer were Adam and Eve trying to get the forbidden fruit (the crystal that they drop and smash) references to Cain and Abel (the 2 sons of Ed Harris, one son kills the other) etc, etc....

Excellent, mind bending psychological horror.

Shades of The Shining and Memento.

Mellisa George is very good in the lead, with a really unsettling ending.

Remember really enjoying this when I saw it years ago. Can't remember much of the actual film though so I might keep an eye out.

Managed about 20 minutes of Midnight Man but the tropes came too thick and fast and it was sooo slow to get going that I switched off.

Went right over my head then. I had to go onto IMBD the next day to see what it was about and couldn't see the biblical context. Just a load of either 8/10 reviews or 2/10, real marmite film. Jennifer Lawrence though, ooft.
