Enjoyed this to be honest. Although Jackie Chan at times , reminded me of my late father dad dancing

Unsane - I was a bit sceptical given the fact that it was shot on the iPhone and feared it may just be a gimmicky mess but it's a decent thriller which is helped by Clare Foy who is excellent in the lead and a well played supporting role from Jay Pharoah. The camera work is quite different to a lot of films and feels very up close and invasive while also being strangely remote, impersonal and distant.

It's certainly derivative of other mental health or stalker type films but worth a watch.

mute -- good movie and worth a watch but at 2hrs it went on too long...

the commuter -- was ok...typical neeson...nothing special

all the money in the world -- above average...not amazing...

lost city of Z -- total waste of time and shocking ending...letdown

Eating popcorn while watching it would be very appropriate ;)
I ate two BLT sandwiches and a bag of salt and vinegar crisps while I was watching it. I don’t eat popcorn anymore but I saw plenty that did. They seemed to enjoy the film too. I don’t know what this proves, other than the people with whom I watched it loved it, regardless of their choice of food. And the Oscars it was awarded should probably be seen as some sort of anomaly... :coffee:

Watched this last night and really enjoyed it.

A group of mates get together once a week for “ Game Night “and decide to up the ante by hiring a professional company to stage a realistic Murder Mystery for them, which goes horribly wrong.

Black comedy, non stop gags, very very funny in parts, although some of the jokes become a bit laboured.

Daft and good fun.

Because first you say the two films are the same then say they are different.

They're not the same, one is done brilliantly well, the other cobbled together with terrible design and going in completely the wrong direction.

One scene for me that highlights the difference between the two is the gang that hold up the Old Bailey in the beginning - who are they? Why aren't they from the rogues gallery from any one of the heroes? Marvel would have made the leader an actual character like Armageddon and put some effort into them. Once they've put in an appearance lock them up in Arkham and keep them for future movies.

There is so much material for great series of DC Films but they are completely studio driven and so have too many drivers behind the wheel. Marvel fought for autonomy, all while still being bought by Disney, and you can see the difference.

Thanks mate. Did you download it, stream online or see at theatre? Because last time I checked I couldn't find a good quality torrent for this

Starred Up (2013) 7,5 / 10

Very Mackenzie like movie, not great, -I watched his Hell or High Water last year, not at that level of course,- but still good.

Well if this is your grip with what I wrote then you're complaining about a contradiction that wasnt there.

I didn't say Justice League was a wild departure from every comic film ever made. I said there has enough differences to the endless repetitive stream of Marvel film and there was. Marvel films are almost identical and follow the same tired uniform patterns every film. Take Black Panther, it was your typical Marvel film with a diffrent setting and diverse cast but it was the same film we've seen so many times from Marvel. Nothing new, same old.

You say one is done brilliantly and the other terrible? Well here's my view, one has been going for about a decade now while the other is still basically in its cinematic infancy. Marvel faced zero competition, DC now has to face Marvel at its peak. Maybe some of us enjoy the diffrances to the formulaic marvel films and don't want to sit through what would effectively be yet more marvel films but with the DC logo on. I don't want to sit through ten diffrent origin films just to get to the team up. The Justice League had more then enough explanation for everyone's backstory and history, I'd actually be a bit concerned for any adult who wasn't able to follow it all. You seem annoyed that they didn't copy the exact formula of Marvel well I for one am delighted.

Look at your complaint about the bad guys at the old Bailey, I'm so glad they weren't some random rogue gang thrown together for a latter film and were just a one off. Not everything has to be "in universe", this is what I meant by differences to marvel films, doing that scene like they did was a good thing for me. Marvel would of made some nothing villain character who hasn't been seen in the comics since 1992 get beat just as easily and pointlessly and 99% of the audience wouldn't of known who he/she was nor would they of cared. Not everything has to tie-in or be followed up in later films. It was ok at first but this type of stuff has been done to death at this stage and imo is one of the reasons marvel filns have become such a bore. There's absolutely nothing orignal to them.

You make it sound like marvel earned their position rather then because they had the might of the mouse driving them. People keep trying to pretend that DC films are doing a terrible job and making nothing but In reailty the first five DC films have earned more then the first five marvel films. I'd say they're doing as a if not better job then marvel did in the early days.

Oh BTW I'm so glad you didn't bring up CGI because......;)FB_IMG_1511994125978.webp
