It would be great to get Larsson!!

Yes hes old, but we only need him for half a season, and he would probably fully know that. So whats the problem? We sign a fantastic striker for a couple of months, he gets first team football, we get goals, and some experience in the team, and everybody is happy.
 

How anyone can possibly say we should turn down Henrik Larsson I don't know. We have ONE fit striker. So we start Anichebe every game and have Jutkiewicz/Baxter coming on as a sub if we need to change the game? How long's that going to last? Victor is actually already injured at the moment. Lukas hardly plays every week for the ressies, has everyone forgotten his fatigue problem? Say we get lucky and Saha is fit to start against Villa, what are the odds on him getting through the game unscathed? The Yak is our only reliably fit striker and he's out for the season, very bad luck yes, but it doesn't mean we're not going to get MORE bad luck. And we should turn down a player of Larsson's pedigree because he's too old? Jesus.
 
If he wants to come then let him. But he's not gonna be the answer to every question mentioned above.

But if he doesnt.....who else is out there? There's gotta be someone, younger, scored goals, able to loan? Because we know how [Poor language removed] we are at actually getting players in general, I'd like to know if there's any other options.
 

I think it'd be a great deal, certainly the best loan played we could get. I seriously doubt we are going to be spending any money so you look for the best player you can find on loan.

Larsson is still a very useful player, he hasn't lost any of his ability. Not as quick as he once was but he's still a good link man and a very good finisher. He keeps himself in good shape aswell.

His presence alone would give the place a lift. He's a legend to me and I'm sure he is to alot of other fans. He'd be a great short term signing.
 
aye, larsson would be great.. and all us goal scoring superstar heroes playing sunday league would feel a bit better that there was a 37 year old in the everton team....

plenty of time yet to make the grade!
 
I signed him on Footy Manager seeing as Everton had a transfer budget of £1 million. If hes good enough for my Footy Manager he is good enough for Everton. I only have the best in my team :).
 
I would take him.

A player of his class doesn't need strength and pace which most players would require to play in the Premiership, simply because he has the brain and the ability to play at the highest standard.

Good point, Cal. I would also add that I don't believe he is the type of person to come merely for the sake of money. I reckon if Henrik believed he wasn't up to the PL these days, he would politely turn down our offer.

He seems like a top bloke tbh, mate.

He was at United for a couple of months and turned down their offer of an extension because he promised Helsingborg that he would report back for their season.

Top professional aswell as a top player.

Said this on Sunday, I swear the press are just flittering around our forums trying to get any gossip possible. Nugent has been mentioned on here aswell and that's rumoured a possibility too.

I lived up near to Glasgow when he was at Celtic. I didn't hear a bad word from anyone about him, Cal. He as the epitome of the model professional. A great guy.

That's not far from the truth, Zero. Remember the Ambani rumour which started on TW? Then some melt added it to the Ambani wiki page, complete with grammar and spelling mistakes. Within a couple of days the newspapers were repeating it almost word-for-word. It must be great being a sports journalist.
