You could also add Pienaar and Billy to that list, they are both meant to be "in the hole" players.

Quite a surplus. But in effect your right Fellaini and Cahill are like kind and we have been forced to play both together with some difficulty. I was hoping Bily would be more of a winger. So far I haven't seen that everyone likes the middle.

Well we will lose Yobo and Yak in Jan, so that would allow Heitinga to move to the Defence freeing up a place in midfield. In theory that is. Im sure he would get games.

Would be an excellent signing in my opinion. Considering most of the players we could possibly get on loan are dogshite, we would do well to get arguably America's best player.

First thing i thought of when i saw this was that Arteta isnt coming back any time soon. Hopefully thats not the case.

This deal has Moyes fingerprints all over it versatile midfeilder come striker. Everything for him to prove, to be honest i have my reservations based mainly on his commitment to the cause/general attitude and the fact its a three month loan. Cant really see him busting a gut or extending himself with the WC coming up. Additionaly i beleive a three months isnt sufficent to adjust to the PL for the first time. But then Moyes has earned his decison making autonomy especially on loans

Hopefully he can give us a creative spark centrally we desperately miss. Wouldnt have been my first pick for a loan (Jack Wilshire) but lets give him a chance anyway.

He's got something prove, he seen as a bit of a flop in Europe. Other American players have come here and been successful whereas Donavan, arguably the best American player, has stayed in the comfort zone for the majority of his career.

I can't see him playing centrally here, from what I've seen he's nothing like Arteta (in terms of position and style) and I couldn't see Moyes playing there anyway, knowing his history with the likes of Arteta, Osman and Pienaar in the past.

Obviously there's Fernandes, who played centre midfield straight away, but he'd had 6 months in England and was a different kettle of fish in terms of strength and physique.

It will give us the option of playing Pienaar in the middle, something I'd be interested in.

Might be a reason why hes considered a bit of a flop in Europe, certainly the American players who have tended to do well over here have been either keepers or big robust players of the Dempsey, McBride ilk. The skillfull ones like Cobi Jones or Altidore havnt really hit the heights their reputations suggested, i think he defo has talent just that i beleive he has difficulty with his attitude and would be surprised if he took to the Prem in any way easily.

Like i say ill certainly give him a chance - i think his versatility and deleivery is the hook for Moyes so maybe your right and he will be on the wing if indeed we ever do have a midfeilder on the wing in the conventional sense. Would certainly be intresting and offer us something different to see him, Pienaar or Billy centrally!

He's impressed when I've seen him, he's offensively minded and he would be loan therefore no transfer fee. Plus he's got a point to prove.

Basically it's win-win.

Not forgetting he plays for my favourite international team. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Yeah.

That could be the case, I'm sure the American Blues will give us more information on him. Especially his attitude towards the game and the team/teams he's played for.
