Landon Donovan

This is a ploy by England to eliminate Donovan from the World Cup. Obviously he will sustain some injury as soon as he steps into Goodison.

Rate him highly, its a big mark to 42 goals for your country but realistically i can't see him coming as we've seen over the years whenever there's a well known player talk before the window we never get him. Plus there would again be the likes of bayern and other top teams in for a similar deal so our chances are pretty low. Not really sure we need him too tbh,we already have enough strikers and when fully fit we'll have a problem of playing fellaini, cahill, osman in the first team anyway together so donovan may not be the best midfielder or striker to sign.

Some good points, but we can use some bodies right now. I figure Landon for a quality if not exceptional body with flashes at Everton. His style is differnt from EFC so there will be an adjustment but hopefully he won't be a square peg. So... make it happen Davie. Roll the dice.

At 27 - theres probably a reason why he is still in America.

Good point. I've personally never been impressed by him. However, he is quick and excellent in the open field counter. I don't see him flourishing in a controlled midfield but he is a clever passer. He would do well in a midfield where he's not expected to control the play but be at the end of passes and stretch the field.

He would be a great loan addition - never settled at Bayern and never really got a full opportunity.

Think the only reason he's stayed in the US for so long is he is the face of the USMNT and has been for a long while and he makes good money in endorsements. He's a big US soccer name but would be another nobody in European soccer recognition-wise.

Honestly? Are you sure about this?

Errrrm yes... the hearbeat is missing. Yes we have shown the passion and pride recently , but we need that something extra. We can bring 3 or 4 extra bodies but in all honesty we can't replace him that easily. Also Pip's loss is biting deep too.

Seriously. Are you quite positive about this? Who is this Pip and why is he biting?

Grabs coat running....

??????

I hope your not implying that this London Donavan fella is anywhere near as good as Arteta? Hes a fat balloon compared to Mikel.

Seriously lids, do you honestly think that I would ever rate Donovan better than the little Basque Magician?

Relax, take a breath and see the smiley face at the end of the post. It will all be better soon.

Take it from me CTUSA, Pip will Land on Donovan, especially if he starts using his gob too much, other than that I'm happy he is coming:huh::blink:

Not sure about this. If he does join us, he'll be missed here in Toronto when the Galaxy come to to town - there's no-one who gets boo-ed more at BMO Field.
