Corbyn says Great Britsh TV Show " Only fools and Horses " is over rated.
Something like that.

A pretext by the Blairites / BBC / fascist right.

It's just a few days or weeks away.

As said: pacify a bully and they keep on coming back for more until there's nothing left.

Should have stood up to the crypto-fascists of the Israeli apartheid state and their fellow travelers.

I doubt this issue will go away. The state controlled BBC will make sure it doesn't as will the likes of Hodge, Ellman, Berger, Smeeth, Sweeting and Mann. I have no doubt that most people don't even consider it (Corbyn is a racist and 'anti-semite) as they suffer NHS waiting, care home closures, care costs, housing issues, universal credit cuts to benefits, cost of living rises, debt issues etc.

Criag Murray makes a good point in this article New Labour's Irrational Adoration of Thatcher - Craig Murray

"I support Scottish Independence, so I am in a different position to voters in England. But, despite the fact large numbers of my friends have joined the Labour Party to support Jeremy Corbyn, I could not vote Labour in most of England. Could I advise somebody to vote for Wes Streeting, John Mann, Jess Phillips, Stephen Kinnock or their ilk? No, under no circumstances.

Labour party members need to bite the bullet on reselection. Being a Labour MP cannot be a sinecure granted for life irrespective of behaviour. The party is plainly dysfunctional, and it is so because the large majority of MPs are totally removed from the views of the membership. There are only two ways to resolve this. Either the MPs will have to leave parliament or the members will have to leave the party. There is no coherent party at present.

The Blairite Labour MPs have painted themselves into a corner by their decision to brand Jeremy Corbyn as personally a racist and an anti-semite. If I was in a party led by a racist and anti-semite, I would leave the party. The idea that they can continue as members of parliament for the party while expressing such views about the leader is a nonsense. But they do not wish to leave, because they would lose their comfy jobs. All of the right wing Labour MPs realise they would never win an election on their own account, without Labour Party support. It would be hilarious if not so serious, that they claim Frank Field can resign the Labour whip but this does not mean leave the party, and that he must still be the Labour Party candidate at the next election!

Their hope is twofold. Firstly, that the charges of anti-semitism against Corbyn will be widely believed and lead to a drastic drop in public support which will force Corbyn out. This is not happening. The public realise that the charges of anti-semitism are false and based on a definition of the word which simply means critic of Israel. Other than the normal polling malaise which follows any split in a party, there is no drastic plunge in support for Labour of the kind which would definitely follow if the public thought the party were led by an anti-semite.

To put it another way, either 40% of the public are anti-semites, or the public do not take these accusations seriously.

The Blairites other hope is that, by the Labour Party adopting the IHRA’s malicious definition of anti-semitism as embracing criticism of Israel, they will manage through legal action to force Jeremy Corbyn’s expulsion from the Labour Party. This attempt to use the British Establishment to circumvent party democracy is extraordinary.

By bringing things to this pitch, the Blairites have made compromise impossible. Either Corbyn and most of the members will have to go, or the Blairite MPs will.

Something must give. That is why I urge everybody who is in the Labour Party to take action today to push for mandatory reselection of MPs. The matter is urgent, and no party can resist the united force of its members for long".

Hodge has already threatened to take the Labour party to court if she was disciplined for calling Corbyn a racist and anti semite. Field's has also threatened to take the Labour party to court if he is expelled for the Labour party.

"And this is from Richard Angell, director of Progress, the centrist Labour organisation (rightwing in the eyes of its critics, but self-defined as “centre-left”). Angell said:

The Jewish community made it clear and simple to Labour: pass the IHRA definition in full – no caveats, no compromises. Jeremy Corbyn and the Momentum-dominated NEC have just failed the most basic test. A ‘right to be racist’ protection when debating the Middle East is not just wrong, it is harms the cause of peace but it will also continue a culture where Jewish people cannot feel at home in Labour.
Today’s decision is an insult. Labour does not know better than Jewish people about antisemitism.
The four hours it took for today’s retrograde step to appear shows there are committed anti-racists at Labour top table but those apathetic to antisemitism won out, again. The NEC has bought the Labour party into disrepute".

Charges of anti semitism will be a constant thorn in the side for Corbyn and the Labour party. When a Blairite MP is deselected it will be because they stood up against the 'anti semitic racist' Corbyn. Even Frank Fields jumped on the bandwagon about anti semitism this is despite this remark in 1993, in an interview in the Independent,

""He (Frank Fields) attacked Lord Joseph, one of Margaret Thatcher's favourite ministers, for an ill- advised speech on birth control among the poor, calling him 'a leading member of the Jewish community applying Nazi attitudes towards the poor'. Field's courage and obduracy were both noted". If Corbyn had said this. The outcry would be very loud and widespread and he would be in court.

The Blairites know the game is up if they leave the gravy train and attempt to do a Gang of Four. But that will not stop them trying to damage a Corbyn led Labour party from winning the next general election.
He's right in that the deselection of the right wing Labour MPs is the only way forward for the LP as an organisation. (I welcome that. As much as I;d like to see the LP win the next election, the most important thing for me is to see the party cleansed of the Blairites and regain its mantle as a party of democratic socialism with strong influence from its working class base in the TUs).

However, he's wrong about the anti-semitism stuff: it will work in Corbyn's favour in the end if they continue to push this...it will be his detractors who will be cast as the bullies and then the jig is really up for them. If you watched Newsnight last night you'd have seen a veteran and revered LP member Alf Dubs (who just so happens to be a Holocaust survivor himself) state that there's nowhere to go for this story now.

In one way, this is a good place to be in: gloves off and a fight to the bitter end.

But people are caught in the "now" a little bit too much. This news cycle ends soon. The only game in town from now until the next election is Brexit, the awful deal and the bloody Tory civil war. Let the good times roll.

That particular argument is over now...the 'anti-semitism' blag.

Here's why: with that climb down by Corbyn the Zionists will just get on everyone's tits by prolonging the issue. Hodge and her ilk have served their purpose and aren't required by the production team running Project Corbyn Fear. It's settled and would be counter productive to press that issue anymore. In short: everyone is now sick and tired of the whingeing gets. It'll likely rumble on for a few days or even weeks. But it's done. No mileage in that slur now.

Now the strategy will move on to some other non-issue that'll be made an issue to smear and force the Labour leadership into a corner. I dont know what it'll be. Maybe a return to a riff they've played before like the Russian stuff; or maybe they'll look to take down McDonnell; or increase the focus on "bullying" by members of sitting right wing MPs and organise a few resignations and present it as a crisis.

Who knows, but its coming. And it's all designed to do one thing: knock the edges off Corbyn and make him as safe as milk.

Oh it won’t stop alright, because Corbyn will probably say or do something equally as stupid.......

Here you go, tomorrow’s papers....I know, I know who it is, but this is what people will be reading.....

“Labour was slammed for a new attempt to dilute the international definition of anti-Semitism today after it finally adopted the text in full but with a 'free speech' get out clause.

Dame Margaret Hodge led criticism of the party for taking 'two steps forward, one step back' by adding the rider to the full International Holocaust Remberance Alliance (IHRA) text.

The statement spells out that Labour will not kick out anyone who criticises Israel without being anti-Semitic - something critics say is already clear in the IHRA text.

Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn was branded 'contemptible' for bringing a second personal statement to the meeting on anti-Semitism and Palestinian rights. He wanted to issue it alongside the IHRA but it was opposed during the committee meeting.

Mr Corbyn's document said it should not 'be regarded as anti-Semitic to describe Israel, its policies or the circumstances around its foundation as racist'.

Labour sources said there was a difference between attacking the country of Israel that exists and any Jewish state as a theoretical concept. The IHRA makes the same distinction but it is poorly understood by non-experts.

But the Labour Friends of Israel group said the leaked document, which was not moved to a vote at Labour's ruling committee, showed Mr Corbyn was 'part of the problem not part of the solution'.”.......

In your own opinion what is wrong with the added statements?

I know you haven't asked me but, hey, public forum!

For me, the clause is a big issue as it is unnecessary. The IHRA allows for free speech about Israel that is the same as any other country, so it is redundant for the purpose it claims to have.

It's an ideological addition from the Labour left because they simply couldn't stomach adopting the thing wholesale.

Corbyn's little tirade sums the situation up. As I've said before, there were certainly valid arguments to be made for not adopting the IHRA in full. However, Corbyn - as per usual - decided not to lead on the matter and explain why before yesterday. Instead of attacking the issue head on, he allowed it to fester, gain momentum, have his goons attack on social media and lead to this situation.

He's not a good leader. I'm sorry, but he is objectively poor at leading a political party.

I don't personally think the added statement was entirely necessary because I think you can criticise Israel within the IRHA, but I also don't think there's anything wrong with it being there if it calms concerns about curbing free speech on the matter

I haven’t read them, and won’t bother doing so as they have been scrapped.

This issue is Corbyn, his mismanagement of the whole affair and even when they thought they would put it to bed, he shoots himself and the party in the foot again. Why have added statements ? What purpose were they meant to serve ?...

Lol if you read them you might have an opinion that’s yours and not that of a daily mail hack.

If it allows for free speech anyway then the added statement is irrelevant and not anti Jew.
