Dave - it is, but there should be plenty of evidence by now to show what the effect of that is - Corbyn isn't damaged, the argument for open selection is made even more clear, the anti-Corbyn right gets progressively weaker and a lot of the things that would come up at election time (and cause concern) now get raised and dealt with when it is a lot less dangerous politically.

Or to put it another way they are going to oppose him whatever happens, do you want them to do it on this issue (where there are real concerns and where people have genuinely gone way beyond the pale) or on another issue where they get exposed again?

Not at all. I’m in favour of re-electing candidates and party leaders every 5 years. I would go further and insist no politician can serve more than two terms and get rid of the dross in Westminster......

Undoubtedly, but it was summer, traditional silly season for politics, not that i think Israel and Palestine is silly , but now there is more pressing matters, Brexit and Mays proposal, her tenure, for the press to get stuck into, More and more people are going to feel Brexit bite up to leaving and thereafter.
