An interesting article.

Zionism and the Third Reich - Institute for Historical Review

Conclusion

In spite of the basic hostility between the Hitler regime and international Jewry, for several years Jewish Zionist and German National Socialist interests coincided. In collaborating with the Zionists for a mutually desirable and humane solution to a complex problem, the Third Reich was willing to make foreign exchange sacrifices, impair relations with Britain and anger the Arabs. Indeed, during the 1930s no nation did more to substantively further Jewish-Zionist goals than Hitler's Germany.

Founded in 1978 by Willis Carto, a longtime anti-Semite, the Institute for Historical Review (IHR) is a pseudo-academic organization that claims to seek "truth and accuracy in history," but whose real purpose is to promote Holocaust denial and defend Nazism.

That is why I put an interesting article and the conclusion. There are many journals, newspapers, periodicals that are financed by certain organisations that want to put over a certain line and have an agenda. There are many articles and journals written by prestigious journalists and universities that have as its core propaganda. To understand what people are thinking and saying it is necessary to read articles, journal, periodical etc.. To understand Hitler and the Third Reich reading Mein Kampf is a must as is reading Goebbels writings and and others. To understand something it is important to read around the subject. Same with this article. The article may be written by some very unsavoury character same as a lot of other unsavoury characters who write things. Surely, the thing to do is tear it to pieces and show how it is wrong. If the article, written by a person and in a journal, offends you then I apologise.

Labour antisemitism row: Read the Ken Livingstone interview ...

For this bit of that interview that Livingstone got hammered. " Let’s remember when Hitler won his election in 1932, his policy then was that Jews should be moved to Israel. He was supporting Zionism – this before he went mad and ended up killing six million Jews". Livingstone has been attacked for years and years for raising the Palestinian cause, and some took the opportunity to continue attacking him for saying that Hitler 'supporting Zionism'.

"Back in 1932 when Hitler won the election that brought him to power his policy then was to deport all Germany’s Jews to Israel. That’s not because he was a Zionist, it is because he hated Jews. He then had a dialogue with the leaders of the Zionist movement, private, not him personally but his officials, privately discussing whether or not to proceed with that policy. In the end he didn’t – he chose to kill six million Jews.

“It’s a statement of historical fact: he was, well not him personally, but senior officials were in a secret dialogue with the Zionist movement about whether to proceed with this policy.

“It’s not inflammatory to tell the truth and one of the reasons we make so many mistakes in politics is that so few politicians study history. We keep making the same mistakes".

Livingstone should not have resigned he should have argued his case, seeing that he himself raised the issue of Zionism and the Haavara Agreement. Livingstone brought a discussion out into the open and discussed, there were and are those that do not want to discuss certain issues and the Haavara Agreement seems to be one of them.

And again, no he didn't - he supported the removal of Jews from Germany, full stop. The methods were varied but it was primarily (key word!) to answer the Nazi 'Jewish Question', not to support Zionism. Similarly, the idea to ship Jews to Madagascar wasn't to support Madagascarism!!!

Adolf Hitler opposed the assimilation of Jews in European society, calling for them to be removed from the continent.

The Zionist political movement opposes the assimilation of Jews outside of the "Jewish state of Israel", actively calling for them to move to it.

Fundamentally speaking, they're two sides of the same coin - which is somewhat ironic considering that a coin was minted to commemorate the agreement:

Do you know what the word 'fundamental' actually means?

Because if you really think that the Nazi aim of eliminating Jews from German life and the Zionist movement are 'fundamentally' the same thing, you have an actual screw loose.

Nonsense. Texts which are written in bad faith do not merit being read in good faith.

People still read Mein Kampf to better understand Hitler's ideology, or the origins of the Third Reich. They don't read it to cite as an unbiased authority on German Judaisim -which is effectively what you've just done by credulously parroting Neo-Nazi propaganda.

There are more than ample grounds for criticising how the media in this country covered Labour's Anti-Semitism row without resorting to Holocaust deniers who you've accidentally stumbled across on Google and didn't bother to read up on.

You get that was Nazi propaganda right? It’s a bit like the Daily Mail making a commerative plate for one of there journalists going to the Caribbean, writing what a nice place is, then wondering why windrush is an issue?

Smacks a bit of whataboutery this, but still it does rightly point out that the media went balls deep into Labour over this anti-Semitism thing when the Tories don't get similar press for their own issues

It's almost as if there's some sort of conspiracy by the ruling elite to shut down any political alternative that focuses on the redistribution of wealth - or something.

Noone reads Mein Kampf to better understand Hitler's ideology, or the origins of the Third Reich, or to educate themselves, or for enjoyment.

It is unreadable - and I say that as a person who owns a copy of it, who is fascinated by that war and who is addicted to reading.

A bit like Ulysses?
