If it’s not too pricey, loan might be useful. Holgate is hurt and we KNOW Jags is past it, Keane is s risk, and Mina is still a bit raw. We don’t need a world class player back there, just someone that can learn and execute the specific tactics required.

I think Holgate has a role to play. He can be backup to Coleman instead of Kenny at RB. Kenny is like a new Hibbo. Holgate is not a neutral RB but he can defend in some occasions.

There is a fashion at the moment for young french centre halfs- upamencana, diakhaby, diallo etc etc.

If zouma was still at saint ettiene or even getting 10-15 games a season at chelsea and 2 years younger everyone would be foaming at the bit for him

Hes a great recovery defender, would compliment mina very well, similar to how davinson sanchez did for colombia (but not as good)

He was very highly rated when he joined Chelsea yet his career has never progressed either there or on loan.

Why put someone at back up right back who is not a natural right back when we already have a natural right back as backup- someone who has all the right attribute mentaly to fill that backup roll

I think with us getting either Mina or Soumaoro in, we need a player next to them with experience of English football, Zouma would fit that criteria and if he is naff we can hand him back at the end of the loan, low risk. Although if he is awesome it will probably cost us £100m to sign him next summer, if we dont agree a fee in advance
