If this was a rumour at the start of the summer I'd want to hold out for someone a little better but the window closes tomorrow and we can't start the season with the CBs we have at the moment so our hand is forced. We need to bring in the best we can in the time we have.

Zouma certainly isn't a bad player and at 23 he has time to learn and get better. If we can get him in a strong back line with Coleman, Mina & Digne then I'd be a lot more confident of a decent start to the season than having Jags and Keane back there.

I think Marco has made comments lamenting Holgate's injury. I think Holgate will be a starter sooner rather than later. Granted, I've been impressed with him.

Has really good recovery speed (which is one of my concerns re Mina), big strong lad. His stats for Stoke last season were better than they'd ever been when he was at Chelsea (although admittedly he'll have had more defending to do). On a loan, I'd be delighted.

Wimmer taking a hammering there too. I remember thinking he looked good at Spurs and being disappointed we weren't in for him. I think with centre backs in particular, they can look very good in the right system and with the right players around them, but change any of that and they can look awful. Have to trust the manager that he knows what type of player he wants and they are comfortable doing what he is asking of them.

I was listening to TalkSport during the night and they were talking to someone in Spain. This guy was really not impressed with Mina. Good at set pieces but really immobile and isn't surprised he didn't cut it as Barca. Personally, I'd rather take Zouma on loan - they seem pretty similar players

Loan is a no brainer for me, no risk to it if we cant get 2 quality centre backs in.

E.g we get Mina in but cant get Lascelles

Go get Zouma as a stop gap, if he impresses, great, if he dosent we arent stuck with a panic buy on our books for 4/5 years
