His cross was great and Rooney's finish superb.

Rooney has to be central for me though. He's wasted out wide. Give Sandro a free role off him.

Dowell hasn't really got into it, and that's what's missing from his game at the moment.

A bit rusty, reckon you can tell we were on a plane three hours ago. But I really like the look of this team, all about energy and quick passing and moving. Klaassen will be huge for that, but Sandro quickly is looking the sort of striker I've been desperate for us to have for ages.

Not certain we will win this, but I don't really care. This is a good test and I like what I'm seeing overall.

Agree mate, the jet lag from that 30 minute flight must have been a killer.

I must say that genk have been very good so far for their level...they really want to win this against premier league opposition in front of home crowd...don't forget that they went quite far in europa league...they are one of the big teams on Belgium...

I said this in the Dowell thread. Has a quality left foot and can spot a pass or score a brilliant goal but he needs to be a bit more something.........involved/agressive/pacy. I cant quite put my finger on it but reckon he will be one of them MOTD players. Hope he proves me wrong.

Have you made any footballing observations?

just calling it as I see it. We've not played much football yet to comment on. Rooney seems to be enjoying himself though. Sandro looks to be putting some effort in. Genk are tackling like a Pulis team but we've picked up the only card. Am liking Keane.

Heard the players were fuming because they could only see about a third of Jumanji. Jags pulled out of the squad in protest.
