I mean, it doesnt matter how they were meant. They are out of line.

The apology should have come a lot earlier. You dont have the right to start insinuating black people come from other countries. We dont live in a fascistic country.

Is it OK for people to ask me where I am from?

Or for a southerner to make a derogortary remark about scousers?

Or when in SE Asia to be be grilled as to where I am from and and assume that I know Bruce Willis?

I'd dare to suggest you have been took in by a seasoned race baiting grifter. In my opinion.

Also the timing of the apology and the mass media coverage happened right on queue...

She, Lady Whoever, apologised after the twitter post from the lady. She then had a personal visit with her, and all angles were covered. To everyones satisfaction.

I had an exchange a while back now, in the pub. A (white) bloke was drinking with a mate of mine, and I was introduced to him. I could not place his accent, so asked him where he hailed from. "I am British Mark" he said. "Well we all are Kev", I replied, "But your accent is kinda a mix between Irish and Kiwi, genuinely interested mate". "Kelper Mark, Falklands Islander. But British".

Is that ^^^^ not pretty similar?? (We then proceeded to a lovely natter about all sorts, including Kev and Turkey, dont ask, offering vans and lads to help me Mum move, if need be).

I have not met Bruce yet but the very weird grilling ended with that question - do you know Bruce Willis. I mistakenly thought they meant as in have you seen his films and said "yes, some of his films are good". Took us a bit to get on the same page but I found it funny.

Melanie was in a similar situation but clearly primed and on a mission.

The timing does appear to have been thought out but the situation was of Melanies making.
