Name checked in the press conference.

..a few times. I’m with @davek on this one, it’s pointless sending him on loan again. Indeed, I thought he was a better option than we had last season (before Walcott arrived), so i’d have certainly kept him here and used him. It comes to a point where you either play these youngsters or sell them.

Really hoping he comes good. Would be nice to have he, Tom and Beni playing together in half a decade.

Have to agree with this. If he doesn’t make it under Silva then it really isn’t going to happen for him at Everton.

That's also a tad harsh really considering he has Gylfi and Bernard and possibly even Gomes ahead of him.

Wouldn't be surprised if he did move on loan if a Champ team came for him.

The boy is still very young, so he doesnt have to smash it everytime he gets on the pitch, but he will have to make more of an impact than ive seen him do in the past, theres a lot of competition in the squad, so everybody is going to have to take their chance when presented.

Spot on. He needs to do something to stand out when given game time by Silva.

I think that about sums it up. He doesn't have to carry the team, but he does have to show that he is worth a place in the match day squad. This is probably a make or break season for him.
I wonder what the future holds for Sigurdsson if Dowell does well and we are changing to a different style of play ?

Not sure he's going to make it, but some youngsters thrive when surrounded by better players. Playing alongside likes of Walcott, Bernard, Richarlison every day will hopefully get him hungry for first team action and help him shake off the self doubt that is holding him back.

He's got a good footie brain that suits playing with the Bernard's of this wolrd not Bolasie and Martina.

Utter tosh.

He's been on loan. Why would you continue to give donkeys strawberries handing him to a Championship club?

Beyond that, he needs to be here working with Silva every day in training. Silva's reputation is that he improves players. Between Cup games, injuries, rotation, and sub appearances, we can give him enough playing time to continue his progress.

Dowell has everything in his locker. The areas he needs to improve on can 100% be improved through coaching and maturity.
