Why do football clubs have to pay the agent anything? They`re the players agent, not the clubs agent, surely the player wants the agent he should pay the agent.Only Ipswich and Southampton below us, in retrospect he's done a fair job.
The agents get it on outgoing was well as incomings so it’s £9m on €50m of incoming and €83m on outgoings
Most of it probably went on getting clubs to take Maupey and Holgate off our hands!

Agents fees are one of the reasons too many players end up bankrupt. Players have to pay 45% tax on agents fees even if Club pays the fees as it’s counted as a benefit in kind from your employer - so detrimental to the finances of clubs and players.
Agents are the biggest parasites of the game, attaching themselves to young talent to cream their 10% from their salary for their entire careers. I respect the heck out of players - mostly now retired - who had no agent or allowed a family member to take charge.
