It's going to be hard to find someone to take him off our hands, so maybe he's sat down with Silva and Silva's said "I'll give you some minutes as a back up this season so you can put yourself in the shop window so you can find a club when your deal runs out?" and Kev has agreed, hence the seeming improvement in his application and effort?
...I think the pure economics are that Silva/Brands will want him out, even if it’s a loan deal (similar to Ashley Williams) where at least part of his salary is paid. As I said, I’m wary of players who suddenly appear to be top professionals and clubmen, when what has gone before has been largely to the contrary.
