Attacking midfield of Pienaar, Honda and Mirallas = boss. Then we have Fellaini (or his replacement) and then Gibbo behind to complete a very well-rounded, powerful and skilful midfield. Osman and Barkley providing good backup.
Then, we sign a talented striker which will cost at least £10 mil and that will address all the major weaknesses in our first XI.
Then we use the remaining money on our bench, for instance, on a backup GK, a young and upcoming Distin, a CM and a wide player.

If only it were that simple. He will receive offers from the likes of AC Milan. If he wants to play in the PL, well, the London clubs are loaded with attacking midfielders and so at least we can guarantee a first team place + a decent wage. But, I have an instinct that Honda might choose the RS over us...

He's available on a free isn't he? Does that mean the RS will bid £20m for him?

I think a lot of Hondas money is made via his 'branding' as well as he's huge in asia marketing wise, Id love to see him arrive, just when it try to imagine him signing i get a blank though, same as i always got with a few others like moutinho, et al, its like my inner pessimist coming out

This... that's how Everton can recoup the money invested in a player like Honda. No more British eyes will be watching the team, but butts in front of tvs across Asia, the Americas, etc, is how to expand the brand. Somebody send a memo to Bill.

Nevertheless, as mentioned above with Mirallas, some guys want the money to sit in warmups on the touchline. Others prefer to get paid on the pitch. Everton can't sell London like Spurs or Arsenal can, but they can offer the XI.

Dont forget the commercial side of this deal IF we was to sign Honda!. Through shirt sales etc over in Japan, that would pay for most his wages alone i bet, cos we'd rake in some serious cash due to him being a star back in his homeland!. We'd get some serious TV coverage over there, shirt and merciandise (sp) sales would be booming i'd imagine, this deal makes sense on a lot of levels cos even though commercially it makes sense, he's a very good player to boot and would improve us aswell!.

It's win win all round if you ask me, IF were genuinely interested in signing him?!.

As I have mentioned in previous threads, selling 1million Everton tops in Japan only makes Kitbag money, not Everton FC

won't happen, i think he will go to AC.Milan myself.

This.

Think he'd be a superstar there. Why would he even consider Everton?

He's far too good for teams not even in Europe, plus we can't offer him bigger wages than most clubs.

No chance, move on lads.

Branding turns into money with eyeballs and butts, not shirts. Give the shirts away for free! When you get people watching, that's what drives ratings, which drives brand and revenue. Want real sponsor money? Get butts and eyes. Shirts are the response, not the indicator. United don't make their money from their shirts; their shirts make money because everything else they do makes money.

Although you do realise that many people out here in Asia watch the football on blag streams or TV broadcasts that the PL recieves diddly squat for? And that most Asian supporters don't buy legitimate replica shirts?

United have monetized a number of different streams of revenue but people watching them on 씨발넘체널15 isn't one of them. It's hysterical when you see people claim Park Ji Sung was bought to boost Korean / far eastern shirt sales. Couldn't be any less accurate.

I think we hold the trump card as he wants to play in England. And he would be close to Shinji Kagawa. While I also am not convinced we will get him I still hold out hope that one of these mornings I will wake up to Honda Signs For Everton headline.
