if likes of Arsenal and Spurs come in then advantage we have is the same when signing Mirallas. first team football, decent style of play, more stable and happier environment. doesn't always work , but obviously does for some

Can't see why he wouldn't come to us. Established top half side in the Prem and have a more than decent salary structure. Would also be an almost guaranteed starter.

Us, Villa and Spuds are interested in Honda according to one of rags this morning. Really cant see why Spurs would want him with the midfielders at there disposal and the impending deal for Paulinho, and Villa seem to be signing alot of youth, although they do seem more interested in the attacking midfielder from Montpellier, Younes Belhanda.

IF were seriously interested, then we want to be making our move to try and get him signed up!. He would be a perfect signing for us in many ways, obviously commercially but footballing wise aswell, he'd be perfect to play in the whole inbehind the striker.

I dont think he is actually on a free just yet, i think i read somewhere his deal runs out in Jan 2014 so you would have to pay a fee for him but i'd imagine it would be relatively small, something between 2-4 million at a guess?!.

Sign him up i say, he's the kind of quality we need to try and improve and get to the next level IMO.

This is our advantage in many transfers. As said, Mirallas had better deals on the table, Arsenal may only be one of them, more might of come in for him and the lure of first team football brought him in. That being said though this may pan out similar to the Niang deal, we seemingly had a chance to get him and then Milan came in and we didn't stand a chance.

Its a long shot but there's no harm in trying if there is the chance he may think the same as Mirallas did. We will just have to wait and see. I just want a transfer to happen already! Its horrible watching teams buy players while Martinez hasn't even met the squad yet.

He´ll get double the salary at Spurs, and its London.

would he get double salary? If he did, how much would it matter as probably other commercial interests linked to the move may bring in just as much cash. these could easily be linked to a starring role at a top club, rather than hanging round at a club who don't know how to use you. lots of optimistic presumption here, but he may have seen the bit part Kagawa has become and been very wary

By all account he is on 30k pw in Russia, with 8% tax on that, so for parity on salary over here with 45% tax your looking at around 50-55k

We could easily give him 50-60 grand a week and he'd be satisfied i bet. We could potentially sell Felli for £23m + and get Honda in for soemthing like, 2, 3, 4 million tops and on less than Fellaini's wages. So say Felli goes for £23m, we give Standard there cut of any profit and that leaves us say, £20m, we buy Honda for £4m tops, which i dont think he would go for that, it would leave us potentially £16m and whatever Martinez had for funds before sales to buy a proper replacement for Felli and the chance to add more to the team/squad!.

Dont forget the commercial side of this deal IF we was to sign Honda!. Through shirt sales etc over in Japan, that would pay for most his wages alone i bet, cos we'd rake in some serious cash due to him being a star back in his homeland!. We'd get some serious TV coverage over there, shirt and merciandise (sp) sales would be booming i'd imagine, this deal makes sense on a lot of levels cos even though commercially it makes sense, he's a very good player to boot and would improve us aswell!.

It's win win all round if you ask me, IF were genuinely interested in signing him?!.

I think a lot of Hondas money is made via his 'branding' as well as he's huge in asia marketing wise, Id love to see him arrive, just when it try to imagine him signing i get a blank though, same as i always got with a few others like moutinho, et al, its like my inner pessimist coming out

The amusing thing is with us having far east sponsor with chang, you just know if it was united or another team wanting him, then the sponsor would be applying pressure or incentives to him, the way nike , adidas have done for years

Can't see this happening at all. He's clearly a very good player, although admittedly I haven't seen an awful lot of him. He's going for free* so he'll have plenty of Champions League teams after him unfortunately.
