Keeping hold of Fellaini

its ok to have a rant, but where is he wrong? we can't even persuade someone like Ba to choose us over newcastle ffs. until we can compete with clubs around us regarding transfers we will always be looked on as a "second tier team". as much as it hurts to admit it, we have slowly slid down the pecking order , and if we're not careful, we will lose to much ground on other clubs despite the new financial regulations to attract top players in the near future.

the fact is that if any player at any club publicly announces they are better than the club that pays him big money and whose fans support him and sing his name and then he calls them sub-top, i mean what a knob

I was Fellaini - a talented Belgian with no connections to Everton whatsoever other than being employed by them - I'd want out too. Just as if a talent like him would stick with a club going precisely nowhere fast.

I love Felli and at 23 with the talent he has I genuinely believe he will be one of the best midfielders in the world at his peak and would be mortified if he left for much short of £35m if I'm honest.

I totally agree with everyone that thinks he and Baines are the 2 that we have to move heaven and earth to keep, even at the exspense of Mikel and Rodders, even though it pains me to even mention selling quality.

Hes a good fearsome player. I don't want him to leave but I've seen players in the championship with better techinque than him. His passing has improved some distance but its still below par and his first touch can also be just a diabolical. If someone bid £25m and we took it I wouldn't be dis-heartened. We could pick up a couple of decent players for that.

If it was £25m for baines, thats when i would see my buttocks.

Yeah but he kissed the badge so he must love the club.

Some good points here

Don't talk cack. We're not going nowhere, we're going backwards.

If madrid come calling Fellaini will almost certainly go .Madrid are a top team who play in the CL every year and compete for the la liga every season, have some of the best players in the world at their club, also one of the best stadiums(100,000). Now compare that to our beloved everton .A good mid table PL team with a very old stadium{40,000), very rarely play in europe , never play CL, got a chairman with no ambition and buy ordinary championship players. Sorry to say but its only a matter of time. I think we should get 25+M for him and splash it out on two very good wigan players .James McCarthy, his direct replacement(rodewell defence midfielder) and Nzogbia ,the left winger were crying out for .We all know we have to sell before we buy ,so bill buddy, get your finger out of your ass and bring some good news to the best fans in the world.

Stands and applauds (y) Impossible to argue really.

Are we negotiating a new contract at the moment?

Yes we are.

Very much doubt Fellaini is leaving or will leave any time soon,he loves the boss, the fans etc and he is only saying what every player say's in the end that he wants to win things be in the champions league etc-hes no different to most players

Agreed.

Yes...but...

...by no means would Fellaini be guaranteed first team football with Madrid or any of the other heavyweights on a consistent basis. Players have left teams in the name of "ambition" and "winning trophies" only to find their ass glued to the bench. Fellaini is good no doubt. Madrid or Barca good? That remains to be seen.

And if he needs any clarity on the matter, I'd present Exhibit A: Steven Pienaar.

You are ofcourse 200% correct, but unfortunately this world is full of greedy t***s just like Peanut so despite us all knowing that they would end up on the bench, then out on loan inside 12 months, these players will always go.

(just to add I'm not calling Felli a t**t, just generalising on your average modern day footballer) !

You've got to watch the market.

Chelsea bag Modric...they won't go for him especially with Mikel, Essien and Rameries. United won't want him. Arsenal...possible but won't pay over the odds. Citeh...too small fry.

So you got to look abroad...Real, Inter, AC, etc.

The total point is...his dad doesn't want him here. His dad is his agent. Any club making a formal enquiry or bid, hell motion a move. Age, ability, contract, willingness to keep, him we are talking 20million + fee.

On that note...hell do a Pienaar. Wait for offers and how the market pans out, play out his contract.

We simply cannot allow that to happen. If talks over new deal break down, (not bein negative its just that this is Everton), then we would have to do whats best for the club and cash in.

If theres one player or position we can afford to let go its centre mid, and felli is the one to bag us 25+. Not that i want him to go, but in rodwell we would not fetch 10m, and he has potential. We are a selling club with no money at the moment and he is our big fish.
