LOL

In terms of youngsters, just who exactly do you think should have played this season that hasn't?

Well to put it simply : look at the young and inexperienced yet potential future squad players in our reserves, then you'll see a list of players who could have been given some game time in the league at various points this season at the club who give youth a chance.
But weren't. As they weren't last season when we won games confortably with little riding on them, games that James McFadden played in.
I don't care if junior is gash or great tonight, playing him is a good decision. As long as he isn't uber gash tonight some league appearances should follow, but Moyes recent history says they won't.

Wrong again

Osman made more forward passess (40%) than any other midfielder against Newcastle.

Listen, mate. I was at that game. If 40% of Osman's passes were forward and 90% of them found his player than he must have touched the ball like six times. It's easy to have impressive percentages if the game passes you by.

Nothing's inconceivable, mate.

Go on, be specific. Name them and at what point they should have played / come on in which match.

 The old attempt to win an arguement - "I was at the game". As if that makes any difference to the facts.

Number of passes by midfielders in the Newcastle match

1. Peinaar 49
2. Neville 46
3. Osman 40
4. Mirallas 18

Hardly the game passing him by.

You are just plain wrong.

osman was gash against newcastle, no matter what the stats say and the first goal was definitely his fault. doesn't make him a gash player though, if he had gibson behind him he would be fine though, it's just that neville is the player trying to cover his mistakes atm and it's clearly not working. neville is suppose to be the DM player whilst osman is the CM, when gibbos back his performances will improve again surely

Okay last year we lost six games out of seven with Cahill and Saha up front and being awful, after Vellios had scored three goals from the bench and was only given the one start. At the same time we persisted with woefully out of form (at the time) midfielders like Osman, Neville and Coleman while dropping Barkley who'd been one of our few bright spots in the two games he'd started.

Later on in the season we were thrashing teams 4-0 (Fulham, Sunderland with a weakened team) and not giving either Barkely or Vellios 30 minutes runouts. Duffy was dropped after two good performances for a full back played out of position.

The fact is a good perfromance by a kid isn't rewarded with more starts and a bad performance by a trusted older member of the squad isn't rewarded with a drop.

In midfield last year we played McFadden (a player who had no future at the club ) more than Barkley (a player who we should be blooding).

Honestly those stats don't reflect the game as I saw it. I trust my own eyes. Osman had a poor game.

The stats are interesting, but are you of the opinion that either Neville or Osman played well against Newcastle? Because to most eyes they didn't, specifically because they are both being played in areas of the pitch that are not complimentary to their styles and skillsets.

The Neville-Osman midfield is undeniably a weak link in our side, as can be seen when either of them are on the ball around our defensive third.

how many of osmans and hibberts passes went forward, passing sideways or back should not count or be separate from an attacking pass, osman is too fragile and too small i'm fed up watching him fall to the floor when he's tackle,as for his shooting at goal it's pathetic, he has no strenght in his legs and most of his shots roll tamely to the keeper or out of play, one shot in the newcastle game from the middle of the 18 yard box almost went out for a corner

LOLZ

So you are saying we should have been playing the youngsters in the seven game sequence you mention

Man City
Liverpool
Chelsea
Fulham
Chelsea
Man Utd
Newcastle

You obviously see what you want to see.

No I like Osman. I've been calling for him to get games in the middle for years. But he had a bad game. Pulling out stats you've twitsed to make it look he hasn't is the sort of thing the kopites do to defend Joe Allen. If a player plays well you can tell by your eyes you don't have to rely on a computer to tell you.
