The stats are interesting, but are you of the opinion that either Neville or Osman played well against Newcastle? Because to most eyes they didn't, specifically because they are both being played in areas of the pitch that are not complimentary to their styles and skillsets.

The Neville-Osman midfield is undeniably a weak link in our side, as can be seen when either of them are on the ball around our defensive third.

Gibson is first choice in that position, so it is weaker than other areas of the pitch because he is unavailable. That doesn't make Osman or Neville as terrible as some people are making out though. They are our best options at the moment, but Juniors performance tonight could change things.

Honestly those stats don't reflect the game as I saw it. I trust my own eyes. Osman had a poor game.

Got to agree with you mate.

I like Osman and he's very good when playing attacking mid, but he was quite poor against Newcastle in a deeper role. Maybe he would have been better with one of Gibson or Fellaini alongside him but that position isn't for him in my opinion.

No I like Osman. I've been calling for him to get games in the middle for years. But he had a bad game. Pulling out stats you've twitsed to make it look he hasn't is the sort of thing the kopites do to defend Joe Allen. If a player plays well you can tell by your eyes you don't have to rely on a computer to tell you.

1) I haven't pulled out any stats or twisted them.
2) Joe Allen is a good player (Not worth what they paid, but he's still good).
3) My eyes saw Osman make a bad mistake, but generally play well.
4) Stats can be useful to show parts of the picture that people miss, people can be biased, computers are not.

Osman is badly gash, he plays superly when we are on top of games, but badly goes AWOL when we are chasing or under pressure.

Coleman played out of psoition. Vellios played off the bench apart from one game where he started and that was the one game we won.

It wasn't his best game, and he cost us a goal but i still think Moyes is right to be playing Osman and Neville in midfield at the moment.
