We need a backup striker who is already on a level who can just come on and play. King is proven, he’s not going to be on much and he’s not going to cost much. Some of you’s see he’s 29 and would rather we sign some 17 year old child from the french farmers division because on footie manager he slotted right in when in reality it doesn’t work like that.

King is decent business.
After a big pay day and we kindly oblige. Over 100 grand a week ffs

It’s a tough thing to do, to get a competent back up striker in the PL a lot of clubs struggle with it, King provide options for us for DCL & Richarlison, centre forward and inside forward.

He's played 45+ minutes in 7 championship games for Bournemouth. W1 D2 L4 Scored 4 Allowed 8. Bournemouth in all other games: W10 D7 L2 Scored 35 Allowed 16. Make of it what you will.

I wouldn't make much out if it. He was injured and got covid and was probably pretty upset they blocked him joining United then got relegated.

Some notes to put out on availability if we complete the deal

Won’t be available for Leeds on Wednesday

Will be in squad for United on Saturday

Cup tied for Spurs next Wednesday

So the fact that they were bad when he played means nothing?

Villa were awful when Gueye played for them and they went down to name just one instance where thinking like this doesn't really work.

We needed an experienced back up striker, we also needed some cover elsewhere going forward, not every signing (again, if he signs) can be a superstar.

Also takes pens too which is nice.
