No not every signing can be a superstar but signing players whose ceiling is bang average is an objectively bad strategy for creating a team that is better than bang average.Villa were awful when Gueye played for them and they went down to name just one instance where thinking like this doesn't really work.
We needed an experienced back up striker, we also needed some cover elsewhere going forward, not every signing (again, if he signs) can be a superstar.
Also takes pens too which is nice.
Even the most pessimistic of us would love to be proved wrong if it means te Ev do good stuffmate I know but it’s like we’re getting relegated by half of these posts
Its us tho do we ever learn, hope your right thoNo chance we are paying a squad player over £100k a week. Not after Tosun, Sandro, Bolasie. Lessons have surely been learnt?
Indeed. We need more option up front and apparently this guy is speedy.Villa were awful when Gueye played for them and they went down to name just one instance where thinking like this doesn't really work.

are you ten, christ.£5m? Your not allowed to celebrate any goals he scores or contributes to us then ,thems the rules
I can guarantee you that an injury-free and motivated King is a beast, and will create problems for any defense. He will give our attack a dynamic that we lack, and we will see an attacking player who manages to use his physique to run from the defenders. It is not a wise long-term investment, but we need players who can strengthen the squad now. There are not many of those players on the market now.So the fact that they were bad when he played means nothing?
I have a question on work rate. Why are we so sure it is good? Half these posts are excusing his terrible current form because he's not arsed about playing for Bournemouth currently. Wouldn't that be a red flag?Perspective is important with this one. If it's a low fee and he hasn't robbed us in wages then it's a useful addition.
If he's getting 100k a week from us then..
We could definitely use his pace, work rate and versatility.
Think average was the word you were looking for.... maybe. The age isn’t a concern. The concern is he’s a bit crap.
Read the rest of the post - a fee agreed at the beginning of the deal.Buy from who?? he would actually be out of contract and no longer anyone's to sell.
He scored 6 goals in the PL last season. 3 of them were pens!
Season before he scored 12 ... 5 of them were pens.
