He decided we were the only option for him to be joining...
Apparently Mourinho has turned down Lille or Lyon or whoever saying he has already a premier league club that he's joining.
On Talksport Andy Goldstein debated it was between Manu, Tottenham and us!
He decided we were the only option for him to be joining...
I know we've tried to get him before Koeman, maybe now is the correct time.
plenty of them deserve it, so it’s a yes from meThe fervour with which the Everton fans would get behind Mourinho would be something to behold. He'd only have to hint at his dissatisfaction with a player or club official, and that person would be in for a relentless hounding.
I know it's never going to happen with him in particular, but I do think that what this club needs is someone to believe in. We had it with Moyes, whose work in dragging the club away from the threat of relegation can't be overestimated, but that faded once he started to reinforce his own glass ceiling in an effort to make himself more appealing to potential suitors. There was also Rooney, who could have been our talisman on the field, but unfortunately he came along at a time when Kenwright and his cronies were at their absolute worst. His second spell doesn't count.
Why does Andy Goldstein's opinion matter?
Because he said something that we liked hearing. Why does Andy Goldstein's opinion matter?
A: We have no pace at centre back and so cant play a high line + neither Keane nor Mina is a covering defender (as Zouma was)...it seems to me that we are starting off in a deeper position meaning our players have further to travel to get the ball up the other end.
B: Rubbish centre midfield means we cant attack down the middle and so focus on the wide positions who they just knock it into the middle...predictable.
C: Silva is tactically inept.
We need the CB with pace + a decent midfield.
I cant see a new manager changing that problem.
