Jose Mourinho

No chance he will come to us. We wouldn’t even entertain a thought in his head.

It will enter his head but then quickly go back out when Real Madrid sack ZZ.

I don't know if Brands would sign off working with Mourinho either, so then Moshiri might be in a position of scrapping everything and starting again handing Jose basically a blank chequebook to sign whoever he wants. It is that Hollywood manager he was after though...

Why does Andy Goldstein's opinion matter?
He on talkSport, plus it was on 2 tablets of stone anonymously delivered.
QED.

though I don't see Jose waiting 1 or 3 games (depending) while Silva trys to turn it round.
More like
No
or
Yes, but I'll let the other guy have a fair go then start if he messes it up
But
Could be - gimme a week or two sort things out, see if they've got my old suite at The Lowry aired out...how does the first of the month sound, keeps it nice round figures.
Whos the next game then?
Spurs at home
That will do nicely

If Brands wouldn't sign off on that he would be more destructice to Efc than any kopite on the planet could ever dream of.

Mourinho may go where he feel he will have complete autonomy - that's Everton.

Mourinho will not go to Spurs because he knows Levy is boss.

Many managers will be weary of Levy, because management of monies. Still can't blame Levy it's legacy he is creating with stadium not reputation in a period of time. Having Jose I would be absolutely drooling and believe he needs a challenge of Everton to achieve that reputation, no matter the financial circumstances he brings success.

Maybe Jose would welcome working with a Director of Football instead of a banker who's been let loose to play with the owners trainset, negotiate noodle sponsorships and send chummy texts to the players...

The argument against is all though he wins trophies at every single club he's been at when he leaves clubs it's usually on a sour note. Being a tit and stuff. And it's amplified by media. First of all who cares once he brought a bit of success and pride back. Second I'd imagine we'd probably be galvanised if Mourinho start giving players and the owner stick. We'd probably be behind him on it.

I've always liked his "Me against the world" approach. Our squad could certainly only benefit from a siege mentality, they're too soft and need a tougher more resilient attitude.

I'm all in for Jose. The media and other clubs be damned

Mourinho has his flaws. He knows how to build teams. The question is whether Everton fans will embrace his style to build a team over a medium to long term. Can we afford another managerial casualty in a age of instant success expectations?
