Jo's transfer fee.

I'm guessing we'll have to sell Yak to pay for the transfer, if Moyes thinks we are better off with Jo. 11M is a pretty good price and if he gets hurt we can send him back. Another piece of good business by Moyes.

Not sure who I like better. Yak is probably a better goal scorer but doesn't appear to have the ability to hold the ball up like Jo does.

he's played one game...

he's off to as good a start as AJ, and most of you changed your minds pretty quickly with him. honestly i don't see us buying him, i think he's needed right now with our striker deficit, but honestly when saha and yakubu reach full fitness, especially with cahill potentially moving to striker permanently, i don't think he'd be able to get a game in a fully fit squad.

i'm not going worry about the option to buy until he shows he's good for more than one game... against bolton

Jo is a great talent and 11m is a great price for someone as talented and young as him considering today's market, but he still needs to prove he has what it takes to play at this level. I truly believe he has what it takes, he just needs to be consistent.

We don't know if Vic will be with us next season, Saha although a great player when fit can't stay out of the treatment table, he is also like 31 years old, Vaughan is very young and like Jo he needs to prove he got what it takes, so even if Cahill stays as a striker we'll need another one if we expect to compete in the Uefa Cup and stay in the running for one of the top 4 positions in the league.

Also we'll need to address the Wings and another Midfielder,I would love to see Moutinho with us, he can play both positions although he is better in the middle so I don't know if we'll be looking to sign him now that we have move Arteta to the middle and we also have Fellaini, who I still believe will improve on defense and turn into a great box-to-box mid, so if we sign Jo for about 11m I don't know if we'll have enough money to sign Moutinho.

I hope it doesn't get to the point of having to choose between Jo or Moutinho. Getting both would be amazing.

:D

Yak wont even be fit for the start of next season, he isnt going anywhere. I doubt he would pass a medical so soon. And i wouldnt sell him anyway.

I don't want to be negative but rather realistic... Yak could be back early next year or at the other end of the spectrum, it could be a career ender. Achilles are tricky.

Oh please.

We're not selling Yak.

Everyone gets all excited because Jo has a great debut but forget that the Yak has done nothing but score goals for us.

We'll be keeping the Yak.

i've just heard a rumour, apparently we have agreed a fee of £10.75m if moyes wants to take up the option.

Its a gentlemans agreement, but I'm not sure if thats moyes-hughes and depends on hughes still being in charge, or if its everton-city.

Althought the jo transfer from cska was supposed to be £19m that was with add-ons etc for appearances, and as he's not at city he cant trigger those extra payments so city have only paid about £14m for him.
10.75 mill pay half straight away(y)

I agree, but also do so with your Texan colleague above. Achilles injuries can be nasty and have long-term effects (he says, admiring the strange shape of his lower right calf).

Although, having said that, I never expected Tim Cahill to come back from his foot problems as quickly as he did.
