He’s not the best goal keeper seen, but he’s decent. People on his back about letting 4 goals in, have a word with yourselves. There wasn’t any “wonder saves” but there was good saves, that needed making and he made them well.

I wouldn’t be looking at changing him, when there’s easily 5 other starters week in week out that need putting down.

Such a lack of understanding as to what makes a class player and how different periods of games sort out the men from the boys.

You need Pickford to be at his best when we are `in a game'. When its 0-0 or 1-0 etc. When you are 4-0 down there is no pressure
on anyone - the whole team gets stick.

Its why Tony Cottee sometimes got stick. He loved a hatrick against Grimsby in the league cup or when notches a couple when your already 2-0 up v Norwich.

Wat about when its 0-0 or your 1-0 down away at Lpool, United or Arsenal.
He scored an equaliser at Goodison v Arsenal, and wasn't it a brace in the 4-4 against the rs in the cup?

The way I see it he should have stopped the first goal, there was no reason why he shouldn’t have stopped the third goal and the fourth goal was an all round defensive shambles of which he was an integral part.

The only goal he had no chance with IMO was the second.

A few “good saves” is the least we are entitled to expect from him.

Problem is he does not make enough of them.

Think some people think Pickfords role is to take goal kicks and pick the ball out of the back of the net

His job (which he is paid a lot of money, and trains everyday) is to stop the opposition scoring

Let’s be honest, he isn’t very good at doing the latter

What about the defence that let 4 shots happen in the first place?
A defence with no confidence in their GK who barley makes an effort to command his own box? That defence?

It's not as if there isn't a ton of evidence that Pickford, regardless of the defence, is an incompetent GK.

The jury is in: he's hopeless and we need better. Much better.
